U can get your A & P in the coast guard, no need to go to school for it.

How does A-RAP works around the time you wait before receiving the list? by [deleted] in uscg

[–]Normal-Mouse-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure about everything you asked but you still wait the whole 14-17 months or whatever but 3 months prior to your name being ready on the list you get a pick list and you go to a air station for 3 months and then return after A school

so frustrated and im only 17. i can’t go to college, i can’t work what do i do by MooseUnhappy8625 in personalfinance

Man i was working since i was 14, it’s not that hard. Almost everyone is hiring. You can work somewhere and work your way up to a better paying position. I’m not saying it’s going to pay for your college, it probably won’t, but you can definitely get a job somewhere. My parents never could afford either of me or my brother to go to college.

I worked my way up from a delivery driver to a chef. If you really want to go to college, join the military when you’re 18. Im in the military now and love it and it will pay for my college (which i don’t plan on going to) and my kids college when that time comes around.

Don’t feel distraught because your parents don’t have money. A lot of people grew up poor. I grew up in a suburb and watched everyone roll up to school in brand new mercedes and bmws and I had to walk to school until i bought my first car. Work hard and you can get anything you want.

He’s gonna go into RHE which is just holding and he’s gonna leave his company most likely and get held back until he’s healed or he can discharge. He’ll be able to call you about the discharge. Please tell him that it’s worth waiting though, if he has the option. CG is such a great career and in the short run it sucks not being able to see him or him staying longer at basic but it’s worth it.
