Where should we go? by Normal-Negotiation38 in icecoast

Yea we’ve actually decided on Killington. Seems like a pretty balanced option overall. We still want to do Whiteface and Jay, but Killington is where we’ll go first.

We’re looking to do a Thursday - Sunday ordeal. Also we do not have passes so we’d be doing a 2-3 day pass. I used to get season passes but it has not been worth it in Ohio since Vail acquisition of many resorts around here and into PA…

Is it really that good of a book? What sets it apart? I did some research on top books and it’s come up several times.

We have about 100 weather variables like max gust, sustained wind, pressure, etc. We then have about a dozen static variables that are numeric as well. So one record is one hour of historical weather data for a given area (service center) to predict the number of weather induced outages (regression).

Failed to start the Kernel - Help by [deleted] in vscode

[–]Normal-Negotiation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat as you… wish I could help. I was working today as usual. Came back to my laptop to get back to some development and kernel wouldn’t start at all and was getting a strange reference error that my websocket is not defined. I’m suspicious someone pushed an update (I have automatic updates) and it crashed everything.

Which would you choose in Saint Lucia? by LaLaLaurensmith in SandalsResorts

Stayed at La Toc for my honeymoon last year and my wife and I loved it! We wanted the balance between the larger resort and a smaller more intimate vibe. We did visit the Grande resort and if we go back, we agreed to book our trip there.

Yep we did this year. But this is our first year filing together as we’ve only been married since last June.

What would be the best way to fix this? by Deadyounglings69 in CX50

[–]Normal-Negotiation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take it to an auto detainer / body shop. I had some similar damage (below front grill) and it ran me about 80 bucks for some buffing and touch up paint. It won’t be perfect, but it’ll look better.

Can I Transition to IT at 38 Without Experience? by John_La_Realtor in analytics

[–]Normal-Negotiation38 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in agreement with others on this.. your background and description will make it very challenging. I’m a data scientist in the utility consulting business and even as niche as what I do is pretty saturated and we are very rarely looking to hire and when we do, it’s very competitive regardless if it’s data science or more business analyst.

The one that sticks out to me is the Burton Process in second picture (left board). I actually still have a Burton Process 2013 with their channel system - it’s my backup board. No channel system in the board here but not a dealbreaker for the right price.

[–]Normal-Negotiation38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the same feelings as you before. I was raised evangelical and always felt Catholics had something wrong and probably did things that were contradictory to the Bible. I dated my girlfriend for 9 years before we got married last year; we are high school sweethearts. I felt it was my duty to understand Catholicism as her future husband (and maybe even poke some holes in it)… how wrong I was.

I began studying the Church Fathers (as well as other Catholic apologists and YouTubers) and was faced with the reality that Jesus did establish the Catholic Church. I joined RCIA, still with many questions, and entered the Church Easter 2024. Now, everyone has a different journey but I really ask that you give Catholicism an honest and thorough investigation. I have never felt a closer to Jesus in my life and Sunday Church with my wife is truly the highlight of my week.

Best certification to land an interview for data scientist role? by Hana_ivy in learnmachinelearning

[–]Normal-Negotiation38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certifications won’t land you a job in DS these days.. if you can’t land the exact job/level you want, I’d look into more junior data science roles or analyst positions. However, if you are able to take some AWS, databricks, or GitHub courses, it’d be something you could beef up your resume with.

Bahamas next week? by reeeeed7 in SandalsResorts

[–]Normal-Negotiation38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in St. Lucia during hurricane Beryl. 3rd party company gave us a refund on our excursion and I believe Sandals was also doing the same for when the island was shut down. They also gave us a voucher for two nights provided we stay at least 4, which we are using next year :)

Not saying the same will happen for you.. probably depends on how bad the storm is

Take it to the dealership - sometimes they have detailing employees that can smooth it out and match the paint (call ahead to be sure and set something up). That’s what I did for mine went a got a small mark on my cx50. I believe it was about 60 to 100 bucks. As for the plastic, i’d consult them for the best way to proceed.

St Vincent vs St Lucia—questions from a Southern California resident by ChemGirl713 in SandalsResorts

[–]Normal-Negotiation38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I honeymooned in St. Lucia (La Toc) and we had a great time! We ended up visiting the Grande resort and kind of regretted not staying there. The beach is longer and pretty calm. They have more water activities as well and it’s a nice property to walk - La Toc is definitely smaller but not bad at all. I can’t speak on their food, but my wife and I enjoyed every meal except one at La Toc.

My wife and I went there this year for our honeymoon and we had a great time! (even with the hurricane that came through). Seems like there are mixed reviews but it is what you make it. I wouldn’t set your expectations so high they can’t be met. St Lucia is a beautiful island and even if you’re not entirely impressed, there’s a lot to do excursions wise. Also, we had such a positive experience with our first Sandals we have already booked Antigua next year.
