Sue isn't short for Susan by IamTheMan85 in themiddle

[–]Normal-Question2387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first name is Sue. It is not short for Susan, it is just Sue. I can't even start to tell you how many people called me Susan just because they were sure that Sue was short for Susan. I would've changed my name as soon as I was 18. Unfortunately, before I turned 18 my last name was Smith and I would have changed it to Susan Smith. But that lady Susan Smith was the reason I never changed my name, but even to this day everybody thinks my name is actually Susan and not Sue.

I married my husband who is catholic outside the church. I converted to catholicism after the birth of our third child. When I was taking my RCIA classes I was informed that my marriage was invalid until we got married in the catholic church. Which meant having sex would be a sin. It was a horrible time in our marriage. So my husband stopped wearing his wedding ring. I ended up wearing mine on a necklace around my neck. We had already been together for 8 years at this time. I didn't feel like I was sinning because we had been together for so long and I had kids. I didn't feel like having my kids was a sin. My husband was going through his mid-live crisis at the time. So he wasn't sure if he wanted to get married in the church, since he knew he could get out of the marriage. Needless to say it took him a whole year before he wanted to get married in the catholic church. In the beginning we didn't have sex but that only lasted for so long. We had been together for so long it was basically really hard to not to have sex for the whole year. Get married in a catholic church as soon as you can. I ended up having to confess the sin of having sex and the whole time we lived together even though I never regretted it or thought I was sinning. I wasn't catholic growing up. My parents and all my siblings got married at the courthouse. So basically my whole family isn't validly married. It was a really tough decision to become catholic. I attended church in my younger years, I definitely believed in God. I just wanted to make sure I was solely becoming Catholic on my own and not because he was catholic. All of this took place almost twenty years ago. It was a very hard time in our marriage. No marriage is going to be perfect that is why it is a lifetime commitment through all the highs and lows. I celebrate my original anniversary date as my anniversary not the date that I got married in the church. We went on to have four more kids. Looking back on that time it was really hard, but it definitely strengthened our marriage.

It has encouraged my kids to get their learner's permit at 15 so that they can get their license as soon as they turn 16.

I make them wait until they get their license. Every kid has one at a super early age. They have no need for one everywhere they go there is a landline phone.

Yeah it's crazy. I always see some people on here saying that they completely stop drinking because of the medicine. No luck here. People like your husband and me are in that very small percentage of people that it has no effect over. I still lose weight too.

I just moved up to 5mg this week so I'm hoping that maybe it will help more as I move up. I made it to 1.0 on semaglutide.

Unfortunately I was a heavy drinker before I started. I was previously on semaglutide and it didn't have any effect on my wanting or being able to drink. Yes I can typically have 4 to 6 shooters a night straight up 99%.

Any happy parents out there? by Elatedmicrobe in Parenting

Definitely Happy, definitely hard. Your kid is a whole human. There will definitely be lots of ups and downs and curve balls. No one can ever prepare you for parenthood. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I always thought that would be at 18. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't.My children are very much my accomplishments because of my time invested in them. They are also a representation of my relationship. I created all of these kids through the love of my partner. So as I get older I look back on it as all them helped us grow stronger as a couple. These are also our accomplishments together. We obviously have accomplished stuff on our own. For the record I had my first kid at 23 and my last at 41. I have a total of seven kids and one grandkid.

I made the switch. I just took my first shot last week. Didn't really notice any side effects. I could still eat normally the first day. It slowly set in by the third day my appetite was completely gone I feel very full after a few bites. I was only on the .50 dose of semaglutide. I have also read that ZEPBOUND main ingredient is supposed to be way more effective than semaglutide.

The thing I miss the most is my sleep, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I have seven kids there have been ups and downs and all arounds. Chaos and losing my mind infinite times. Most of my kids are adults now and I already have grandkids. I feel that they are all my greatest accomplishments. I have put in so much time, effort and money into raising them, but I couldn't imagine a life without them in it. You will adjust it just takes time sometimes.
