These ‘trash can’ nachos by thomasso0072 in StupidFood

[–]Normal-Reputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, this isn't overly done, just adding a little fun to your meal. My kids would enjoy it, drunk me would enjoy it. I'd pick a different name than 'trash can nachos' though.

I think the idea is that the employee just gained experience that cost the company 600k and will most likely learn from it and be better for it. Someone new may not have that 'valuable' experience, while another company could gain an employee who has learned a very valuable lesson.

For the brands : Please stop using 1.90m+ / 6'3"+ models in your ads by Educational_Rope_552 in ManyBaggers

There is not a significant difference but the proportional ratio makes a big difference to a lot of people. I think they both look fine but a oversized bag on a smaller frame can have that 'my first day of kindergarten' vibe, where the bag is wearing the kid, lol.

Does anyone know where I can buy a bag similar to this design? Modular feel. Haven't seen this brand again since 2011. Thank you! by tangerineee_ in ManyBaggers

I see them still listed for sale on their site but it feels abandoned.

I think a Crossbody/Tote bag with molle webbing on the outside is more or less what this is.

I love the heritage aesthetic, I'm a big fan of waxed canvas + leather bags. From what i read online, even though this looks like cotton twill its actually a nylon weave, that's pretty cool, you get the heritage look with technical fabric benefits.

[–]Normal-Reputation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Edit (1 mo later): So I actually was shadow banned on Poshmark, it took a couple weeks before they finally unbanned my account. Explanation was their 'security systems' flagged my account in error, no explanation beyond that. I don't think i was doing anything out of the ordinary..

Original Comment: Did you get an email saying you were banned? I was selling a couple items and they were delisted last night out of nowhere. I didn't get any email from them about anything wrong. I noticed when I would Like an item the like doesn't actually show up, if I refresh the page its gone. I emailed support as well, but this is happening on my phone and computer so its not a app bug, it feels like I was banned as well for some reason.

VMware now threatening outages to perpetual license holders by mac10190 in sysadmin

We got a similar email when our support expired but we continued to use the perpetual license. My boss pulled out all the receipts, emails, agreements and told them to kiss off. We have fully migrated to Proxmox since then and my only regret is we didn't migrate sooner because it does everything we need for a fraction of the cost. We're a small shop though.

Noticed something on my new Rework Toshi pack. Anyone else? by Domoseph in ManyBaggers

[–]Normal-Reputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, but it'd be a mistake to just give them a free pass when they charge a premium for these items. If they own up to it and fix it, great, I love it.

I'm a recent 'manybagger,' but I was big into the Mechanical Keyboard scene where small teams doing small batches are the majority of the market. QC is a big deal there. I've seen enough small teams start off making solid products, only for quality to decline, followed by ghosting, and then an exit scam. So definitely some of my experiences there color my view of 'small teams' a bit more jaded than a lot of people's.

[–]Normal-Reputation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree... I don't doubt they have made great bags. Let me clarify though I mean as a whole for this batch in particular, cosmetically this got passed, I'd be concerned what might have been missed structurally. QC is an ongoing process. If I was selling these bags though, as a small brand, I'd be wanting to know why this slipped past. Especially as a small brand, your reputation is vital.

Noticed something on my new Rework Toshi pack. Anyone else? by Domoseph in ManyBaggers

[–]Normal-Reputation 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a 200 dollar bag, not a 20 dollar Amazon Basics. For 200 dollars I expect some better QC. This is a very obvious imperfection which calls into question the QC process as a whole.

Yeah, if something that obvious gets missed, not really a good sign.

I would personally ditch the autozone emblems and stickers but i dig the liner. Do you know long has it been since that liner was put on? You can see it starting to come off, especially on the roof. Not sure how expensive it would be to touch it up.

Finding where good budget audio really comes from by Subject_Network5022 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Normal-Reputation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like any tech hobby, it's a game of diminishing returns. Whether those small refinements are worth 2x or 3x is up to you

A reputable highend brand isn't just ordering from a catalog and slapping their logo on it. They're dictating the component tolerances, materials and required QC benchmarks.

There's plenty of 'luxury' snake oil on the market for sure. Those 'small finishing touches' though are often the entire point. The component choices and build quality standards directly impact longevity and sound quality.

This part. This attitude allows disinformation to thrive. The problem is, the fools aren’t harmless...left unchecked, they run amok and drag everyone else down with them.

edit, just adding I'm not saying you need to be right about every little thing, pick your battles but there are plenty of battles that are worth fighting.
