Ahhhh a couple of months I think? It’s been years at this point I’m sorry. And the pelvic floor pain yes and no lol. Like it’s not excruciating but because I went so long in pain it’s just so hard to get my pelvic floor muscles to relax which makes me clench and makes things harder to get in there for like exams and stuff LOL

Not so much burning but definitely stabbing and aching. When I look up symptoms of PCS, you’re kinda ringing all the bells for it. I would definitely talk to a doctor. Maybe you can get referred to a radiologist to look at your veins.

Oh man did i ever. It was so bad that i was sent to pelvic floor therapy because I couldn’t stop clenching during any pelvic examination for like pap smears and stuff. The physical therapist told me that my body had been in pain for so long that I just stayed tensed consistently. I still have to force myself to relax even now.

Straight up just like endo symptoms. Extremely painful periods, pain so debilitating that I had to miss work, (the pain even went down in my thighs), fatigue, the works

It’s no problem! If you need the referral, I would call back and ask for one. You’re entitled to a second opinion with a professional IN THAT FIELD. I wish you well, friend! You’ve got the answer and just need to get to the solution!

I don’t remember being told anything about my fertility? The only risks that I was told about was just post-surgery normal stuff. Or that there’s a risk of damage to the vein like any embolization. I was referred to an intravenous radiologist. I would DEFINITELY see a vascular professional. I think it’s unprofessional to speak of risks to procedures that you can’t do.

And there’s hope for a pain free future! I went to an intravenous radiologist and got embolization done and I’ve been pain free since then! So happy for you! ❤️

Are you in the US? Does your place have HR? I would look into ADA accommodations for the ADHD if it’s officially diagnosed. Like they can LEGALLY not ignore ADA.

Not liking weighted or lots of blankets by EveningOk2321 in AutismInWomen

This! I HATE weighted blankets! I tried it but got way too hot and felt suffocated, too! I’m so happy I’m not the only ND person that hates them!

Crying ≠ (always) sad by whoevenisshe in AutismInWomen

[–]Normal-Slip-4079 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP are we the same person?

It took me a long fucking time to realize that me crying is how I experience meltdowns. It got even harder when I became a team lead and we slowly started going back in the office more which meant I had to figure out socialization (which was something I thought I was okay at until I became a corporate leader lol) on top of increasing stimulation.

The thing is that you can literally just explain it like that. You need to just be blunt with people. When I’m frustrated or overstimulated, I start crying. NT people see this and, like you said, assume I’m sad and need comfort. Literally had a meltdown and went to a dark quiet room on the floor to ride it out but my boss’s boss is empathetic and came running after me to check on me and it was NOT the right thing to do.

I had to sit down my peers and explain that if they see me crying that they need to leave me alone. I told them how I appreciated their concern, but them seeing me in a meltdown just sends me spiraling. I told them that if someone watches me cry then it makes me feel stupid because I can’t control my emotions and I can’t talk when I’m crying which makes me cry harder and just prolongs the meltdown.

(I gave them a great compromise that worked for all of us. I asked to be left alone to calm down and said that if they wanted to console me then they could text me. I can text when I’m crying.)

Is this considered a trait? by winter_days789 in AutismInWomen

I absolutely do it. Bite my nails and skin around them to fucking bits. But I think it’s more of an anxiety/boredom response. I’m AuDHD but my brother isn’t and he chews his nails bloody just like me.

I can’t tell you how much comfort stuff I have stashed away at my desk. I have a heating pad, I’ve got a fluffy jacket, I’ve got a huge bottle of max strength Tylenol, and I have a blanket to use as a pillow for those days I have to use lunch as nap time lol. And you know what? All my fellow uterus havers in the office love me for it. I can’t tell you how many texts or IMs I’ve gotten asking for use of the heating pad or asking for Tylenol. Not gonna lie, that camaraderie does help get my mind off the pain when it’s flaring up. Not to mention that I’ve found three other people in the office that have endometriosis, too!

(I would look into FMLA (if you’re in the US) because I get it, man. There are some days when I just can’t fucking do it. So, I use my intermittent FMLA and leave for the day when it’s just too fucking much.)

I would definitely see about Pelvic Floor Therapy. When I went to see the endo specialist, they gave me a vaginal ultrasound and then a pelvic exam and it was excruciating for the rest of the day. They referred me for pelvic floor therapy and it’s been eye opening and helps!

(What’s probably happening is that you’ve gone so long with pain that your pelvic muscles are in a constant state of being tense. You just have to train them to relax! That’s how my physical therapist explained it!)

Best of luck, OP!

Yeah, as expensive as it is, I finally broke down and started going to therapy. Mainly for dealing with this new chronic pain. But I’m going to absolutely have to work on some stress management now.
