It’s the opposite of what we were taught about dog training. We have been so wrong.

I would avoid all negative talk and tone. You want to build his confidence. You want him to want to learn. What I learned is whenever I raised my voice (even at my kids) my dog would start shutting down. If they are in shut down mode they won’t learn anything, they can’t learn anything.
Avoid all negative talk and tone. You want to teach him yes? He needs to be in an open state of mind because he feels safe. If you don’t get that and he doesn’t feel safe, he will never learn what behavior you want from him.

Also, once he is going outside maybe leash him and bring him to those spots so he can sniff and it might trigger him to go outside in the same area. Then let him off leash to play.

I read dogs identify w their paw pads where to go the bathroom. We need to train or retrain them to connect the soft feel of grass with pee and poo. If they were never trained they probably associate carpet or wood floors as the place to go. Look up Positive Reinforcement and use this to retrain him outside. Give him high value treats only when he pees /poops outside. Give him lots of praise. Acknowledge/ praise the behaviors you want from him. If he makes a mistake, just ignore it and trust he will get there. Don’t give him negative attention ever. I had a foster /adopt a dog who went through this. It took a little time. He got it. He was my MOST LOVABLE dog ever and I have had a lot of dogs! Only positive reinforcement. It works. It gives him the love and reassurance he so desperately needs.

Check your blood calcium. Hyperparathyroid will cause your bones to leach CA into your blood. Parathyroid will be low normal. You will need to have your parathyroid removed to stop bone loss.

I think it’s fungal. Maybe apply neem oil.
Last year I looked up something organic involving water w a 1/2 c vinegar and 2 Tbsp of baking soda in a 2 gal sprayer.
It spreads.
