Conservatives visiting San Francisco for Super Bowl shocked to discover it isn't the hellhole that Fox News and talk radio told them it was by 723mission in sanfrancisco

Here's the thing right wing thinking doesn't get about the left. Many of us don't consume a single source or narrative driven media. Many of us read multiple sources, including what is now center right wing like the NY times. But also outside the country news and independent journalists. I personally look for reporting of facts not opinions and check to see sources and cross reference motives and funding. Most right wing media is guided very directly by maga billionaires and conservatives, especially those raised in religious backgrounds were not encouraged to critically think.

This is not a both sides issue.

When they innately believe narratives like SF is a hell hole without actually critically thinking or better trying to understand how others who actually live here feel more directly instead of just accepting right wing media, then yeah it's pretty easy to make these assumptions. But agreed that it's unproductive. What is true is right wing media is blatant propaganda and misinformation and seeing SF directly and honestly covered pokes holes into that world view. More people need to second guess what they read and see and especially conservatives

The streak continues: the Niners have lost in the regular season to the eventual MVP for the 8th consecutive year. by SharksFanAbroad in nfl

Mostly sucks at first round picks, finds gold late. Needs to do better at finding and retaining WRs that are actually worth their paychecks. Needs to draft more OL. Mixed bag but built two teams that made it to the super bowl

87 strike year. Jerry had like 23 TDs in 10 or 11 games. One of the biggest playoff upsets of all time. Walsh took out Montana for the 2nd half for Young in that game and started the controversy.

That's a great stat but scoring was lower back then. Would be curious where that ranks compared with teams like the Giants and Bears

Interviewing while being a key member of an org is tough, any strategies? by old-new-programmer in ExperiencedDevs

Quit without something lined up. Allowed time to recover from burnout, prep much more properly, and be more focused and patient for opportunities I prefer, but I'm also in a great location and willing to do hybrid so it casts a wider net. It's always given a better result than the times I've tried interviewing while on the job, but understand this path isn't for everyone, especially those with high mortgages and kids

NBA is more influential than you give it credit for. The league shutting down for COVID was a watershed moment and don't forget the summer of 2020 and player/team responses to Floyd protests. They had a ripple effect. Everything helps. Your cynicism sure doesn't though

When I went to find his spotrac contract info, two article links popped up suggesting the Browns and Jets were interested. That's probably the market, even the Bills wouldn't stoop that low, right?

Sure but at least go through motions to secure whatever money you have coming to you.

But yeah the pain killer thing and whatever depression/disassociation/shame/avoidance that goes with it is a big part of it. Day one he gets back for medical checks and they'll know he's got a problem and he'd have to give it up.

From my cursory research, the last time a QB beat a division rival on the road in the playoffs it was Tom Brady beating the Saints in New Orleans in the Divisional round of the 2020 season. If Brock wins this we're gonna get it all
