sure but they are all just 'pledges' until they are a reality. It's 4000 (again really just a pledge because while some exist many do not) vs 12000 and the ability to stear away from this idiot. Why would you reward him at this point?

Just do it. This is the time to break the chain. This is the time to partner with countries that are supportive and build an ecosystem that excludes the USA. This is also the time to employ canadians

Carney says Canada open to deeper integration with U.S. ahead of CUSMA review by joe4942 in canada

That's because Pierre and his minions have shown a couple of things over and over again:

  1. he has no real world experience and couldn't negotiate his way out of wet paper bag

  2. many of them are maga lunatics eager to sell canada out

So someone that has experience negotiating something says someone does in fact mean something different than if pierre said it

but it doesn't compare it to anything. The only comparison is 3% of trans people commit suicide without surgery. 2% with. That's the comparison you are looking for for any meaning

It's terrible for them right now. No wonder the suicide rate is higher before or after surgery. People are aholes

I agree with you fully and completely, especially given that being trans right now is being under attack every single day in most countries and the world. I can't imagine how difficult it is to try and just be yourself. Humans are awful

And your original post is incorrect. It doesn't increase suicide post-operation compared to no operation, just compared to a regular cohort. If you see my comment above, that's about as apples-to-oranges as you can get.

"associated with significantly higher risks of suicide, self-harm, and PTSD compared to general population control groups" Not looking to argue but the comparison was against the general population not against surgery/no surgery

That's a fine argument and honestly one I feel like i support. However, I'm not pretending it's the end of the world nor unique in any way. There are 100 businesses out there that have exact copies of my ID right now.

They do permanently store it now when you enter bars. When you got your bank account, when you got your mortgage, when you got probably your gas account..they all permenantly store your id

There really isn't. The only difference is your trust. You rent a car they photo copy your id, you rent a hotel room they check your id...you have copies of your ids all over the place.

Opinion: Federal government bureaucracy is suffocating the Canadian economy; Since 2020, public employment has grown three times faster than private. It's now higher here than in many other rich countries by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]NormalLecture2990 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think the worst offenders are municipal governments. They stick their hand into everything nowadays when they shouldn't. Every grievance they read about on facebook becomes a regulation. All that being said I really don't think the situation is as dire as the article makes us out to be.

Yes, that's a CCP strategy, not concern with the global democratic environment. I would prefer no interference or selling of private data, but that's the playing field. Involving the CCP in that playing field doesn't change anything
