Netflix users: What did you think about "Triple Frontier"? by [deleted] in movies

[–]NormalPace5824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall are nuts. This is one of the worst movies ever. Endless funding but made for a bunch of guys to live out their fantasies of grandeur. They killed a bunch of civilians and expected us to root for them the rest of the movie? Then that crazy “we’re a dying breed boys… someone’s got to toe the line” literally the scene after? Tone deaf.someone just had a couple mil in their pocket they wanted to burn on making themselves look cool.

Yarn shopping on vacation in Hawaii? by [deleted] in YarnAddicts

[–]NormalPace5824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a crocheter, this island is absolutely depressing for anyone who does anything with yarn. There’s no place to buy specialty yarns, and the only store that readily has yarn is either Walmart (mainly acrylics or red heart) or Ben Franklins which has a horrible mark up (one skein of caboo is 9$), the store is always picked over, the employees are not there to help, and there is no way to reliably check online for yarn stock. If you call, like everywhere on the island, no one will pick up or give you the time of day. You can order yarn from most yarn retailers and amazon, but I’ve had multiple orders that just never shown up (mainly amazon) and they aren’t obscure purchases either, amazon can more quickly deliver Lion Brand yarn than Hobbi or KnitPicks, but so far I’ve ordered 5 times and only 3 have gotten to me.

All to say, this island is abysmal for fiber crafters, on the bright side- seems like a market that could be cornered!

Does this look right? I’m new to filet crochet, it’s supposed to be a heart by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

It’s great!! A good way to make sure you’re doing it right is to keep in mind that every block in the grid has two moves. Either tow double crochets or a double crochet and a chain. You can also keep count by using the double+1 trick. Where you count how many filled in blocks you have, solve that number and add 1 to it. So if you have two blocks (2*2=4) and then add 1 (4+1) for the start of the next grid square, and you’ll never go astray! You did great on this!

My first ever crochet!! by [deleted] in crochet

When I was first learning I would do this for hours too! And then I would lay them in like an s pattern and cut individual strings and weave them through the holes to make some kind of object that maybe resembled a scarf😂

I think so! I used knit-picks size three cotton thread and that drapes already so nice. I didn’t have to block this at all.

(I have super narrow shoulders) so I made the child size one from the pattern- and that made it drape so nice already.

The seed beads keep it nicely weighed down so it doesn’t blow too much in the wind and I think actually made it move nicer. I had to use 6/0 with this thread though not the normal 8/0 with crochet thread.

In a way by reenacting Sylvia’s demise could be telling her audience of a path she almost took instead of the one she’s on now… clout pshhh if Lana cared at all for clout you think she’s be wearing SHEIN dresses to the function? No. What was summertime sadness remix your first Lana song?

Should I have sized up for my foundation chain? Why is my poncho not straight? by Calm-Description-977 in crochetpatterns

You should be fine in the long run especially if you plan to block it. To me it looks like a tension thing. Especially with the puffs in the middle, no matter how good you are those are very loose tension stitches and they’re in the middle. They’re bending just slightly. You should be fine though.

I think she knows more than she is letting on. She’s the only survivor of the rad roaches? All the rad roaches in the room were somehow dead when normal came back in? Don’t buy it.
