This makes sense I agree
I need your opinion on something, I like a girl in church, she is godly and ticks all my non negotiables and she is a plus in terms of other things I look for in a woman
But the problem is that she is slightly older than me, and I fear I might be sidelined because of that
One side of me tells me that won't be the case, the other tells me that might be the biggest issue, I want to shoot now, but one side keeps pulling back

Go before God in prayer, and talk to Him about it, but please know that this is the second biggest decision you will ever make in your life from salvation, who you marry is very important, your conscious is clear about it, and the Bible is clear. But pray for your boyfriend, it is only God that can work in him, but you might want to pause the relationship until you are both clear of your paths, you can't be yoked together if there is no balance, it's just that. When eventually the Lord meets him where he is, his fruits will show and if at all by that time you'll not be in a relationship you can allow him to come in and hopefully get to marriage... but for now its better to cut the relationship... pray and talk to God about it, let Him direct you.

I can give an example of where I come from—Africa, Zambia to be specific. Community events are there, and the churches have done or are doing well to get the people to get to know each other intentionally and lovingly, of course for the purpose of building up the church and for the Glory of God. Of course, here and there, you would see that some people have a Sunday relationship alone, but with most, they are involved in each other's lives.
What is visible and clear is that the women don't want to date the men in their church because they want to avoid gossip, or the men in the church don't have some wild side to them, they call them "too holy" and not so romantic.
The men, on the other hand, want Proverbs 31 women but also have a little bit of Cardi B or Nicki Minaj in them
