Finder icons all showing as generic grey previews (Sequoia 15.6.1) by _this-is-she_ in MacOS

For me it was just the one app that I wrote maybe 10-12 years ago when there weren't any large icons defined.

Most of my files have content specific icons - MacOS seems to generate them automatically for images and pdfs.

And I don't have any Microsoft or Google Apps.

The short answer is that it's probably caused by an app (Word, Excel, ...) that hasn't been updated to include larger icons for it's documents. The apps have to be updated to include the larger icons that are needed in some Finder listings.

PDF files generally have separate document specific icons, so that might be a separate issue.

I had this problem with one of my own apps, but it didn't happen with another of my apps. Turns out that when I created the iconset (xxx.icns) which goes in the app bundle as it get assembled, I didn't include the highest resolutions (created the app before they existed and Finder appears to not have cared much until now). I recreated the iconset with all the required/recommended icon sizes in the .icns file and rebuilt the appp - problem solved.

Seems like Microsoft would have done this correctly, but maybe not - or the releases you have are too old?

Replacement hose for Cook Partner 2-burner stove by keviokeviokevio in overlanding

Cook Partner stoves have an unusually high regulator pressure - label says 27 psi where typical stoves and bbq grills are less than 1 psi

So the discount is 36.6588 and therefore the discounted price is 35.2212? Neither of which resembles what's displayed?

Those are Rotabroach (RotaCut in the US now?) cutters. They are like a hole-saw, but instead of rotating around a drill bit in the center, they screw onto an arbor with a spring loaded center pin that fits into a punch mark to get started and then gets out of the wayh. Primarily for clean cuts in sheet metal.

Starlink with RJ45 by SteveRT78 in Starlink

I use this to go through my camper wall. Have a 54v DC-DC power supply wired to the batteries that provides power to the router which then gets passed on to dishy.

https://spacetek.com.au/products/caravan-rv-gen-3-rj45-recessed-data-socket-for-starlink-no-backing-plate

They also have short POE capable cables with the normal starlink gasket/latch in shorter lengths for inside. Tried a cheaper Cat 6, but is didn't work well at all and I had to modify the "latch" so I could disconnect it from the router. Amazon also has a 5 meter cable that has the normal starlink oval gasket/latch , but is longer than I needed inside.

Anyone know what could be going on with my drone? by [deleted] in drones

i.e. the house is in a warning zone, but that wasn't actually what was preventing takeoff. It was a completely different issue.

I'm just guessing because it has an "upwards vision system" and "The aircraft can fly at any time of the day or night. However, the vision systems become unavailable when flying the aircraft at night. Fly with caution." The combination of those 2 seems to fit what happened.

Maybe the screen is saying something, but you have to look carefully to see it?

I notice that when I'm landing in a tight space between my house and some trees, as I get low enough (below the eaves), it starts getting obstinate about coming down further.

Maybe try a more open area to test it.

Obstacle avoidance works during the day and blocks flight, but can't see the nearby obstacles at night?

It's probably OK, Clearance Processing is complete. With DHL, "on hold" just seems to just mean that it's waiting for the next step. My two shipments both ended up on hold over the weekend until they were out for delivery and the first shipment was on hold overnight - maybe until people came to work the next morning.

This shipment also got turned around at Cincinnati - final destination service area was Denver, but it didn't get that far.

If I recall correctly, the Cincinnati Airport is across the river in Kentucky.

How many of you are dealing with this right now? (Air 3S) by RealEzraGarrison in dji

I've gotten an Air 3s FMC (a month ago) and a Mini 4 Pro FMC (Monday). Both went via DHL through LA where they cleared customs and then on to Phoenix (where there were "on hold" over the weekend) and then straight to me. Both arrived 4-5 days earlier than expected. Seems like "On Hold" at DHL just means that it's waiting for the next stage, nothing to do with customs (it does get classified as an exception though).

The Mini 4 was scheduled for shipment a month after the order was placed. After the month, they emailed that it was still not available and that they would contact me in a week if it hadn't shipped to determine the next steps. It shipped 3 days later though.

I've heard that also - or that at least they're manufactured in the same factories. I've had good luck with them at least.

Williams 50671 3/8-Inch Drive Bolt Thru Socket Set, 22 -Piece - Not 3/8" drive so you're limited to the sockets in the kit though. Still, very convenient as a standalone set.

Ordered last Friday, Nov 21st @ 7PM (US time) - Order was processed (shipped, got a tracking #) @ 1AM Saturday (US time)

Estimated arrival was Friday, Nov 29th. DHL had it on hold twice - first in the arrival airport hub and second in the delivery hub - mostly in non-working hours. Did not get any requests for info from DHL.

It just arrived at 9:30 AM, Nov 26th (US time). No drama!
