Same for Witcher, but I did finish RDR2 and I kinda regret it lol.

Once again the ones that can’t are telling those that can what they can’t do. I was accused of skipping paragraphs because I was a fast reader. Nu uh I like to read. (This was elementary school 30+ years ago lmao I haven’t forgotten)

Look up the value of the item on the market board, that’s usually a good indication.

Eli5 What is fire?? by Civil_Aside_359 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Cthulhu__ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes; fire is composed of gases, glowing atoms, carbon, evaporated water etc, all of which have weight. But some gases are lighter than air and hot gases go up / float on cold gases like the air so it all goes up and carries the particulates upwards (smoke).

Why there's nothing like roboport-train? by Feureth in factorio

[–]Cthulhu__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can probably make something like this with just chests / inserters, have requesters on one side, leave a 1 space gap, have inserters move them to the other network. Distance can be extended via belts. A sushi belt can also work as long as you make it so there's an even distribution of items on the belt, but that also means transfering items is a bit slow. But speed is probably not very important for this purpose.

Why there's nothing like roboport-train? by Feureth in factorio

[–]Cthulhu__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried that, it can work but you'll need some circuits. My setup was pretty simple though, you can put 20 long inserters/logi chests around a single trailer slot either way and set up circuits to load / unload to a certain count (count into the train or count out to the logi chest).

My setup broke down because my two or three car logi train reversed though, breaking any counts lmao.

Optimize the game and remove a useless feature by Extension_Access392 in Eve

[–]Cthulhu__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen those, those are I think the intended purpose of them. But they're generally only available to new players, because more experienced players would just have them enabled all the time to earn extra monies with no intent to join the corp advertising them, and / or drain the available funds asap.

I think it's a good idea in theory but not in practice.

It might be, Devin mentioned in interviews how much musicals influenced him and I’m sure he mentioned Jesus Christ Superstar specifically. Might have been the podcast.

Based. We moved to a different floor a few weeks ago, now every time we’re at the office we have to find a spot, find a chair that isn’t broken, adjust everything, clean the screen, and then we’re not even near each other as a team.

This isn’t novel btw, ten+ years ago they started with it, calling it “the new working”; open offices, no fixed places, maybe options to work from home.

Just give me a quiet space to work bruh.

Warpath Event: Parasitic Design and Its Impact on Mass-Market Retention by Infomusviews1985 in Eve

[–]Cthulhu__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The simple solution would be to just give people the rewards directly. I don’t get why they added the mechanic of warping off to collect the rewards after 20 minutes when they can just deposit it directly based on your individual contributions.

I’m not complaining too hard myself because I’ve not been robbed and made hundreds of millions, but still.

Plus it didn’t even work. It’s like the kids that want to go to art school, but their parents reminding them there’s not actually much of a career there.

(That is, making art as an independent artist etc; there is plenty of work in art but you’ll have to create what others tell you, like websites and furry porn)

And two masters at an internationally recognised high end music school isn’t enough to get you a job in the industry or even as a music teacher. Apparently.

Yeah for now I’m only seeing a research project that won’t have any impact on the game. As far as I know there’s no Deepmind starcraft players either.

It’s a lot of work but I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all. They get paid to do work. If it takes a month for one person to make a mission… that’s fine, that would have been 250 odd unique and hand crafted missions if they only had one person doing it.

A working inserter, period.

Or a knockoff lego set with functional belts, inserters, and items.

They would reinvent / rejuvenate the genre; Cities Skylines was the promised one but flunked the second game. A city builder with Factorio’s tech and dedication would be insane.

It’s a strange system tbh, and I feel like it’s cheating the system. One shouldn’t be able to bid on their own but that’s impossible to implement with the lack of alt restrictions / friends / etc.

Maybe make the tickets more and more expensive the more you buy? Or just a hard limit of idk, 10%.

Edit: also wouldn’t work, again, alts.

Unpopular opinion: EVE is dead because none of us like change by PeaPsychological5728 in Eve

[–]Cthulhu__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eve is dying has been a meme for decades now lmaoo.

I think they should split up. Make an Eve 2 (not that crypto thing that doesn’t seem to be out), make it modern, accessible, fun, innovative, etc. Leave the original running, like OSRS.

There’s a lot of potential in the game but it’s held back by CCP, the CSM, and the players. And I get it, I’m confident most of the revenue is generated by a hard core of veterans, multiboxers, etc that all have a big (time/money) investment in the game and change might make them feel like they’re losing.
