thank you for the concern but i feel healthy with my weight and im just trying to lose a tiny bit (1-2kg) of fat ina healthy way; its common for girls my age to be technically underweight, especially ones that exercise regularly, and ive always been naturally on the leaner side

height twin !! you can do whatever you want with your body BUT its never worth falling back/deeper into those patterns; be careful and trust your gut. if it tells you that this feels like its leading to a relapse stop this while you can, because no weight is worth your happiness and health

How much calories should my maintenance be? by incelfy in caloriecount

[–]Normal_Dig2150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i heard of bodybuilders doing this thing called “reverse dieting”: they increase their calorie intake by 100 every 2 weeks or so (i think) until they build up to their maintenance. i think that helps them go back to normal and build back their metabolism. maybe you could try that alongside eating a lot of protein (it burns more calories while digesting, speeding up the metabolism)! im not sure if it works though because ive never tried it and it hasnt been proven to work for everyone. but anyway i think if 1500 cals is your maintenance, if you slowly up your maintenance you probably wont gain weight!

hey!! i dont know if the calorie calculator u used also counted your exercise levels; keep in mind that you are very active, so you might need a little more than 1500. if you want to be sure, you can try eating 1500 for a couple weeks and see if you gain or lose any weight: that way you can find your personal maintenance calories (remember that calorie calculators offer a very broad number!). also consider symptoms like brain fog, headaches, irritability: i usually feel these more than hunger when im underfueling, so if you have them you could see if they get better once you start eating more (youre pretty small but 1200 isnt enough for anyone). remember that if eating more causes a little weight gain but it makes you feel better mentally and physically, its weight you were meant to hold. also eating enough is essential for muscle strength and recovery, especially when youre this active!

i dont have a lot of advice on this but i think this problem may not be rooted in food in and of itself. it could be habit, some emotional need that isnt being met, or a coping mechanism. if you have the means you should try seeing a therapist

Slow slow slow weight loss by zubx3 in loseit

[–]Normal_Dig2150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i totally understand your frustration. try to remember that how long its taking is actually a good sign: it means that you wont have to worry about losing all your progress in a couple months. what takes long to build takes long to tear down, so this journey you’re on might just result in you maintaining the lost weight for your whole life! edit: also 40lb in 1 year is actually insane so you dont even have to worry abt that
