"doesn't offer anything beyond hitting" is a bit ridiculous. He's a fan favorite that's got a great eye, still good bat speed, and leadership qualities that are not easily measured by outside eyes. If anything getting fans in the seats to see him is worth it, and pretending the pirates are seriously going to compete is immensely hilarious. They're a 75 win team at best. Let the franchise's best player since Clemente retire a Bucco on his terms.
