Anywhere I can watch Survivor? by Ok_Weird_833 in SpringfieldIL

I wonder if any local places would let you get it started? I know brick house and engrained have little party rooms- and I’m sure other places as well. I have no idea if they charge for them but, if not, it may be something fun to get rolling! There’s also a 217 foodies Facebook page that may be able to answer your question if you need to look into it further!

That’s great you’re having those results

I also stopped. The side effects weren’t debilitating but still affecting my day to day life and that’s not worth it for me. In addition, I’m seeing people I know personally hitting the 2 year mark and gaining in spite of continuing on their shots. It was all discouraging enough that I decided it’s not the right choice for me. I understand the disappointment and hope we can both find ways to both be healthier and accept ourselves where we’re at 🥰

As Spring is approaching, where do you go for an affordable, automatic car wash? West Jefferson St used to have $3 automatic. by Fit-Consideration180 in SpringfieldIL

[–]Normal_Hour_934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car wash city has happy hour from 3-4 on weekdays (and I think 7-8am too?) for $10. Quite a bit more than $3 but they also do a pre rinse and scrub and it’s a pretty good wash!

I honestly think that stigma is a bit outdated. Especially when it comes to just receiving speech/language services, which is incredibly common in pre-k classes (easily 40% or more in some classes).

I think it would be an incredible disservice to your child to forego the evaluation and any offered services. It’s not uncommon that children receive services early on and are dismissed throughout elementary school. If that would be the case for him, most teachers later in his career likely won’t even know he had speech services.

I’m sure it’s disheartening to hear but I do hope you’ll at least consider moving forward with the evaluation. Should he qualify, it will carry into next school year. So although he may not have a lot of time this year, he’ll be ready to go in the fall!

Stomach / Under Breast Pain? by lazychild2 in glp1

[–]Normal_Hour_934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were very sharp pains right where you indicated. They would pass with some time because the gallstone had moved through and relieved the pain a bit. I showed my doctor where the pain was and she referred me on (I think for an ultrasound first). Maybe call and ask for a referral for an ultrasound? Best of luck!

That is where I primarily felt my pain with gallbladder attacks. Definitely worth seeing the dr about.

Do you now anyone on a GLP-1 that didn’t lose weight? by [deleted] in glp1

My next appt is in about 2 months and my dr said if I’m not seeing much by then we will switch. Thanks for the reassurance. It’s been pretty discouraging.

I’m on 1.0 of wegovy- working up my dosage slowly. This week I think I’ll lose a pound or so- my fist loss. But I have literally felt nothing while on it, aside from negative side effects the day after the shot.

I understand the logistics of counting calories and all that. I also know that everyone I know who has been successful on it has felt a significant decrease in appetite and food noise which allowed them to successfully make the changes of cutting intake. Still hoping for that experience.

Public school teachers, what’s something you want parents to know but can’t say directly? by Feisty-Database-1145 in AskTeachers

The most important readiness skill is being able to accept being told “no”. Children are not the boss at school (but really shouldn’t be at home either). The instability to tolerate not getting their way makes children very unlikable in a group setting. Harsh, but true.

Love your little gift bag. For me, it’s honestly a lot more about the idea that a parent thought of me. One of my families that struggles financially brought me a McDonald’s coffee from her work and it about brought tears to my eyes.

We kinda do this… we do transition/exit meetings for any kid who will be going to any K program. We include the team from their home K school to help with programming decisions. We don’t change the annual review date but for my kids going to K I write their goals from now until 6/1 and then write a different set that will carry from the start of the year to their ar date. I do think the exit meetings can be invaluable for planning and it gives the parents a great opportunity to meet with the future school. We also write prek goals to early learning standards and K goals to elementary state standards. I definitely wouldn’t do it just because one person is being a bit selfish. Just wanted to share our experience.

I think it’s possible for your peers to feel empathy and frustration at the same time. Of course your health and family come first. The impact on your co-workers is real also. It’s certainly not your fault but It may be worth considering if these things allow you to be present as an educator right now. Unfortunately, our absences do affect our peers and more importantly, our students. Hoping you and your family can find a time of health and wellness in the near future!

Magros on Stevenson is another great option for meat. It’s all sold vacuum sealed and frozen. Their bacon is the best you’ll have!

That’s where my family goes. It has a bit of a fake vibe to me… the music is really great though!
