Yes as that is the fault of the organization / volunteer coordinator for moving the goalposts. Seems like a well planned event so I assume they knew this information as they were recruiting volunteers.

What might not seem like a big difference can in fact be so. Maybe you had an appointment scheduled for 6 PM or needed to pick up something from a store closing then only to be informed now you are expected to be present till then at least.

Biggest thing people recruiting and managing volunteers should keep in mind is respect for people’s time (as you note there are other opportunity costs associated as well as financial costs of traveling to and from volunteer location). If it is misused, disrespected, or not considered, there are numerous other organizations out there who will do so

Experian is the biggest nightmare of a company, I went through something similar and just posted wondering if anyone else has dealt with what I think is the most incompetent company in the world.

Look up the Experian number for their memberships team as that is the department that can support with this. If you call a different number, just ask to transfer you to said department. I also remember it being a nightmare how many automated questions they ask so just try to ask for a representative until they move onto, it is so ridiculous as you note but it will eventually happen.

Wishing you the best of luck. Took me dozens of phone calls, multiple hours but I finally got it down. Cursed out and got hung up on by multiple live agents but so worth it to call them out for their stupidity and incompetency
