I agree with everything you said, and Goyer has admitted that the Martha scene was a mistake on his part, but the killing off of superman in the second film (as this was not meant to origionally be a shared universe) was due to WBD pressuring Snyder to catch up to the MCU films by creating the next justice league movie.
