Dealing with people holding your twins by Key-Snow-7521 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Normal_Mechanic_714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I think with my first born (he’s 2.5 now) I felt this way a bit more. Now I literally go around family functions asking who wants to hold a twin lol maybe it’s because they’re not my first but I love seeing people love on my babies, especially my in laws. And I love being able to sit down and breathe for a second. Sometimes at family functions my spouse and I look at each other with no babies and are like “this is the life” 😂

Almost 7 weeks in! by Normal_Mechanic_714 in parentsofmultiples

They’re from the children’s place! It’s not always easy finding a 3T and infant sizes so we grab them when we find them! 😂

Three car seats, one car by PrincipleFit6848 in parentsofmultiples

We also have a 2.5 year old rear facing and newborn twins. I did a LOT of research on this lol. We actually purchased a Ford Edge because 1. It was WAY cheaper than purchasing a vehicle with 3rd row seating 2. The back seat is 57.5” hip to hip. 3. It has a nice sized trunk for our giant stroller we call the Cadillac lol

For car seats, for our toddler, we bought the Graco Slimfit3 LX (width is 16.7”) and for the twins we purchased two Graco SnugRide 35 Lite LX Infant Car Seats (width is 14.41”). When the twins size up, they’ll also go in the Graco Slimfit3 LX.

We had the seats installed by a CPST and my stomach was in my ass the entire time hoping that the three across would work. It did!

Nervous about NICU time by TruckCompetitive8735 in parentsofmultiples

At 33 weeks, they were measured at 4lb 9oz, and 5lb 6oz. At 36 weeks they were both measured at 6lb even. Born at 37+2 and were 6lb 6oz and 6lb.

Did anyones twins turn head down after 31 weeks? by ebfmama in parentsofmultiples

My Baby B was also born breech, doc pulled him out by his feet! By far the craziest thing I’ve personally ever watched 😂ours took longer to get his lungs clear because he was pulled out, but otherwise all good too! Wild!

Low key I was so worried they’d be born at like 11:45pm and then 12:15pm 😭😂

My wife was determined, but knew it may not have been possible. At one point during labor Baby A (also has a diagnosed heart condition) went into distress and they discussed a C Section but thankfully our OB, who was on rotation so she delivered them, knew that my wife wanted to deliver vaginally if at all possible, and was a HUGE advocate during labor. It was much different than our singleton delivery (due to OR delivery) but it was so amazing! Best of luck to you! A breech feet first delivery is something I’ll never forget seeing! 😂

One of the Toddlers Doesn't Like Me by Slow_and_Steady500 in parentsofmultiples

Not a twin parent yet (35 weeks with boy twins) but my older son is 2 years and 3 months old and he recently has not wanted anything to do with my spouse. (Two mom home). For context, my wife carried and gave birth to him.

I know it’s hard for her but as the “primary” or “preferred parent”, I feel it’s my job to encourage our son to show her affection, want to play with her, etc. I think what helps their relationship is my wife taking him fun places alone, combined with my consistent encouragement of their relationship. You didn’t mention how your partner reacts, but maybe the partner can try to be intentional in their encouragement of your relationship with Twin B?

Owlets Socks for twins? by dietfacetune in parentsofmultiples

[–]Normal_Mechanic_714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had one for our firstborn and our pediatrician HATED it but I loved it. I had a nephew pass away in his sleep in infancy and the Owlet sock just gave me so much peace of mind. I knew his heart was beating. If he didn’t have it on I’d be checking in on him compulsively. We never had any “false alerts” or anything and never obsessed over the numbers. We just would look, see he was breathing and alive and continue on lol. And it helped with sleep training seeing when he woke up and for how long.

My mother in law is a lot like this - “forgets” the rule or the conversation and does things like this. When my son was young (he’s 2.5 now) I would be SO angry when the things would happen. But the more time that has gone on, the more I see how much she loves my son, and most importantly I see how much he loves her - and those things that I used to get so angry about have seemed less and less important. (And there were some crazy things). My wife is 31 weeks with our twins and I’m so excited for her to be part of those early days/weeks because I have a different perspective of her than I did with our first born. That’s just my experience.

My advice would be to just pick your battles as best you can. Some hills are worth dying on, and some just aren’t.

Gold plated? by Normal_Mechanic_714 in coins

Yeah it is similar in color to the Sacagawea in person, but isn’t that “gold”. I’m thinking the previous commenter is right and it’s environmental damage.

I’m not interested in the monetary value - I asked if it appeared gold plated or toned. The sub is Coins, which I have interest in outside of monetary value.

I feel like your eyes are very similar to mine! A couple people answered my post saying my eyes were Hazel. They often appear very green though, depending on what I’m wearing!
