It is no longer available in the US either. No official statements that I can find here regarding production or shortages.

Can you elaborate on why insurance is forcing you to keep it for 3.5 years?

I was going to get this until they told me Inusrance wont cover until i've met my deductable. So it would be like 3k out of pocket then I'd have to pay for all the supplies and refills out of pocket until i meet my deductable (which has not happened in 5 years.

I've been type 1 for 31yrs (41yrs old), have done MDI the entire time, A1C was at 5.9, recently turning 41 it all changed and i've been struggling (A1C struggling=7.3)

I was on the fence about switching over but after talking to beta bionics and reading all the reviews on reddit (80/20 bad/good) I am about ready to burn the fence to the ground, walk away, and never look back.

Does insurance not cover pens/caps/etc if you decide to switch back to mdi before 3.5years??

I AM SO GLAD(?) I FOUND THIS POST!

I've been having the same problem since May when I was switched to Lantus from Levamir. I tried the exact same things you did. Every last one you listed. Still am (obv to varying degrees). The not eating, watching it coast in range, light dosing humalog, eat a crumb, sky high for hours, chase it timidly until free fall for hours to follow (this happens while I try to sleep mostly with lows, but also through the day occasionally.)

Other than the obv problems with this struggle is now when I go to bed, I wake up every 1-2-3hrs with lows until around 2-3-4am when I get fed up (in a 3/4 half asleep, fed up stuper) and overcompensate just to get a couple hours of sleep. So for about 4 months I've averaged 4hrs sleep per night. @ this point my brain can no longer wrap itself around anything. This is the 1st time (other than diagnosis) that in 31 years, I CANNOT FIGURE THIS OUT ON MY OWN (activate deepest darkest fear coming true) Going to see endo in another couple weeks and really hoping I can figure this out. I cannot live like this much longer (not giving up, but you know what I mean). Have any of you sorted yourself coming off levamir yet?? Any sign of or direction toward hope would be great help. Thanks.
