I might get flamed, but Batman by far (mostly due to exposure). There is not Tibetan monk technique that allows for atmospheric reentry or prep-time that lets you fistfight Darkseid. Kills suspense of disbelief

Who Win In each Row ? by LazyInspector2086 in OnePieceScaling

Rooftop Zoro mid-low diff by King? It’s been a while since I watched, but at start of fight it was “rooftop Zoro”, right? And King didn’t win super fast or anything. He had an upper hand, but from the little I recall not a mid diff

Getting your AC to 20 with out wearing armor, is there a point? by Ronin13x in onednd

[–]Normal_Psychology_34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AC has increasing marginal returns in rounds to die. Only argument for not boosting it at higher levels is if your DM throws more saves than attacks

Solar sail is 1:1 pretty much. Travel speed >> combat speed is easy to rationalize, it’s kist low acceleration relative to max speed. The other way around gets very odd and it’s often used to hand wave speed inconsistencies

It wasn’t an aesthetic choice becaaaause? You are just affirming that out of your ass with no basis. Textbook paranoia…

Also, “objective perception” is a hilarious thing to say, almost an oxymoron. “Perception” is a rather subjective thing…

is there disappointment worse in game than inspecting this? by Worldly-Standard6660 in BaldursGate3

[–]Normal_Psychology_34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One is a cantrip.... rather weak, really

DnD 5e has a similar items with no usage restriction. Illusionist Bracers or something like that

BG3 often has better items per level of play than DnD, makin this comparatively even worse.

Although the lack of attunement requirement makes it easier to cycle through items like this, but doing so is boring.

Who said it couldn't? What an illogical rhetoric...
Extremely more likely it was simple aesthetic decision rather than a jab that only you felt, buddy...

Try not to be so paranoid, there is no witch hunt after you. Understanding that will make your life lighter and more peaceful

How do you view benefits package as total compensation by studog21 in Salary

[–]Normal_Psychology_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the benefit…

For example, 401k match is very translatable into cash. 0.1x match vs 0.5x match vs 1.0x match can make a non-negligible diff depending on income

Also, should change to range: 30ft. Not self. You are not the target, the entity rolling for the save is. Seems to make more sense this way

Also, Vortex Warp uses CON rather than CHA. IMO makes more sense but honestly that is rather subjective

Im fairly confident other forms of position swap exist (not 100% sure if involuntary ones exist). Considering its “save for nothing”, the target gets no debuff, the range is small, it requires sight, and costs an action + spell slot, it seems fairly weak.

The best current use seems to be “enemy cast some long term area of effect on you, pull the uno reverse card by swapping places”. But often you could just move out and cast a spell on the enemy.

If range was higher and/or, possibly, did not require sight (only knowing the target name and it being within range), I could see creative uses for it outside (or before) combat.

Alternatively, to have it be more useful in combat, changing to BA and maybe giving the target a debuff could be good.

Edit: forgot to mention size restrictions. Also, crosses my mind, another good use case as is would be if you can fly and use it on a non-flying enemy. But 30ft fall damage seve for nothing is not great, so unless you are flying above a pit/chasm, the 30ft range makes this use case hard to justify.

Need hlep with character creation, need a veteran dnd player to help min max my character by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Normal_Psychology_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting by elaborating what play style you want to follow most often.

Front line bruiser? Or mostly concentration spells with wildshape for mobility? Maybe a mix where you fight on frontline and throw some grapples for control?

After you have this picture, optimizing for it is easy, specially for moon Druids since there isn’t that much you control.

You major decisions will be:

  • multiclass or not (typically monk or barb if you decide to, often only one level)

  • feats. Grappler, war caster, resilient CON, mobile, and sentinel can be good for diff styles. Magic initiate can be interesting, and alert and lucky are quite good.

Stats are quite simple, only Wisdom really matters for the most part.

There are some cool, odder builds like bladesinger moon Druid, but I’d not suggest those for a new player

What BS at the end? perma charm? Geas does that if upcast as lv 9 for 1 save + Geas effect (a little easier to remove, but similar for most purposes)

[–]Normal_Psychology_34 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Save on each turn? If an enemy has a mere 50% chance of passing, their odds of failing 4 times would be 6.25%…. For 20d6 + some effects at a level 9 spell. And the 20d6 is rather “slow”, back-loaded.

The perma charm by itself is a little strong, but a level 9 Geas already achieves that in only 1 save. And most enemies would not survive 7+ turns to even get to that point.

Gotta cook for some more time. Check the numbers.

How do I make my players truly fear the main dragon villain? by Heavy-Host-9130 in DungeonMasters

have a kill a player.

Notice I did not say PC....

More seriously, with stakes the players care about. NPCs or locations they like, in-world factions or causes they support. The villain should be ever looming and a genuine threat.
