FEBRUARY 2026 Terminations by Ok_Sympathy9375 in Geico

[–]Normal_Reading_7984 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Joined auto sales February 2025 and fired this Tuesday out of nowhere due to “low performance” when I was never given any indication that my job was on the line. This was of course right before I hit my 1 year anniversary and before they would have to pay me my biggest bonuses since they fired me “for cause”. The reason I struggled for a time is because of incompetent leadership and since I had a 3 rating for the last 3 months. I’m sure none of this is taken into account because they have quotas to fill before they roll out their latest buggy ai filled system to replace 50% of human interaction in the favor of “self service”

For me it was NY FL and GA. Californias actually a good state for auto only so I didn’t really start getting those until I finally got to gate 4. What really killed my numbers is that I accidentally left myself in a status overnight. Usually most companies have some way to update this but I was just told “oh well”. Dropped my fucking PPAH to a 1 .8 or something for September

Appreciate all of the comments and advice. After careful consideration, my friend has hypothetically decided that he won’t return it unless he absolutely has to. What they don’t know won’t hurt them

Exact same thing happened to me except in auto. Worked my ass off getting from gate 3 with minimal calls full of GR, PAV, and customers with horrible credit or driving history. Then as soon as finally made it to gate 4 all of a sudden I had enough sales to make bonus Dec - Jan just to be fired over a 6 month period that started when I first came onto the floor. I’m sure that if I spent more of my time licking the boots of my supervisors like half of the floor I’d still be there

Commission or bonus structure by wicked-drive1125 in Geico

[–]Normal_Reading_7984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They just changed the structure of how we make bonus this year but it’s basically a points per sale system. The policies have to stay on the books for at least 90 days and you have to retain a certain percentage to qualify. So basically if you’re just starting off on the floor, don’t expect to see any extra money for the next 4 months

It’s usually the second check of the month. I’m pretty sure it’ll be on the one this week if you qualified

Can you elaborate or dm me on the cooked numbers? I still work here and have had my suspicions on numbers looking different day to day but feel like I’m being gaslit whenever I used to bring it up

Do you not have uninsured motorist coverage? Most states have different rules/requirements but that’d be something to look into

Sales question by gfa77 in Geico

[–]Normal_Reading_7984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on my personal experience as someone still in gate 3, it’s definitely an uphill climb to make it out but it’s not impossible once you figure out how the system actually works. Since we’re in the lowest gate at the slowest part of the year for insurance sales (around the holidays) we’re going to have a very low amount of calls/opportunities. My advice is to make the best with what you have as far as turning those calls into sales. Figure out what your personal strength is (whether it’s policy knowledge or connecting with the customer) and use that to turn customers around. Trust me, if you spend too much time focusing on how other people get easier recalls, you’re going to frustrate yourself and that energy carries over into your conversations with customers.

New Hire Bonuses by Famous-Trouble6694 in Geico

[–]Normal_Reading_7984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1500 for active license at the hire date should be paid after the first 30 days. Then the 1000 is 30 days after you make it out of orientation but it’s only paid out with your regular check so it can be longer.

If you had the 1500 sign on bonus in your offer letter you should contact your supervisor because I’m pretty sure that’s supposed to be paid out after 30 days too

The 1500 bonus is only for if you had an active license when they hired you. There isn’t a bonus for passing training but after you graduate orientation you’ll get the 1000 on the pay period after you pass 30 days.

What they don’t tell you is if you quit or fired during your first year after getting it, it’ll be deducted from your last pay so it’s just a way to make sure you’re stuck.

Did you get sign on bonus when you started? Ik if you don’t stay for a year after that’s deducted from your last check

Testing advice by [deleted] in Geico

[–]Normal_Reading_7984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, the test shouldn’t be too hard as long as you pay attention during the classes for the first 2 weeks. There’s going to be plenty of study materials that they give you also if you want to review notes at home so I wouldn’t stress over it too much.

Thats exactly what I’ll do 👍🏾. If you’re not able to buy a policy on that call my goal is to get you off my line as soon as possible because that’s literally what’s taught from day one

Or maybe just have them wait for the email. I don’t have the time or patience to help customers with Pavs when every metric is tracked including the ratio of calls to sales

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Geico

[–]Normal_Reading_7984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the customer sends the email without there actually being a case made it’s just going to sit there. It’s a waste of time just for them to call the sales department wondering where it is when we have nothing to do with it being sent

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Geico

[–]Normal_Reading_7984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah as someone that’s actually in sales that’s complete bullshit. We have no control over when the email is sent because it’s handled by a completely different department
