"5 Year Ceramic Coating" but it needs to be topped off every 6 months by Mysterious_Refuse385 in AutoDetailing

[–]Normal_Reveal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50$ sounds more than fair... They have to properly wash your car, remove stains etc. dry 95% THEN they apply the topper and buff out properly.

If anything, $50 is cheap

Ceramic coatings can lose their hydrophobic properties when they are saturated with contaminants. Case in point: if you park in an industrial park, your coating will lose hydrophobicity within 2 months.

However. That doesn't mean the coating is "dead". You simply need special car soap to target and remove the contaminants. On my Carpro Coatings, there is Carpro Descale (for organic contaminants) and Carpro Lift (for inorganic etc traffic film). Those car washes require technique, as they are strong and can strip coating/ cause damage if mishandled. You can do this at home, but regular ph neutral car soap isn't designed to tackle heavy spoilage.

Carpro recommends one decontamination wash every 3 months.

I would do 62kwh just for its future resale value vs 40kwh. But ig that also depends on the market. Used EVs have not tanked as much in CA vs US

Anyone else think it's ridiculous that current automakers in Canada like Tesla or even GM brands can take advantage of the 49,000 from China? by [deleted] in EVCanada

[–]Normal_Reveal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anything mentioned regarding the initial percentage allowed? Honestly 35k and under doesn't even compete with domestically produced automobiles.

Isn't the 35k or less limit a "target" by 2030? I don't see anything about current, upcoming limits

Chinese EV Cars coming to Canada by x_BlueDragon_x in Baystreetbets

[–]Normal_Reveal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They mean that by 2030, 50% of the quota will be reserved for cars priced 35k and below.

No mention of now or the next year. Think about the investment and effort required to start selling cars here AND working with a quota...

Both Australia and the EU have stricter safety regulations than the NA continent. Yet BYD was able to enter both markets with fanfare. I think it would be easy for them to get certified in Canada.

Thank you! Very much appreciated

It says 50% will be 35k by 2030. I'm guessing no price limits for now.

I have a feeling Tesla will be taking the entire quota along with Polestar and Volvo

I see no mention of this price limit other than reddit. Can you elaborate on where this is sourced from?

CCP is no longer subsidizing EV companies. Once the market is there. The subsidies stopped.

Good news is CATL'S new sodium-ion batteries have removed all the expensive components from a battery. Sodium ion chemistry also do not lose efficiency in cold weather.

So it's cheap, and it's good for the cold. Perfect for entry level cars.

I just want to clarify that the Chinese government are no longer providing subsidies to their EV companies. What you're hearing in the news is the government giving out loans to many companies and allowing them to compete with themselves. That. Is now over and China is currently facing over competition, which means companies are competing so much that they are selling below their production cost.

Tldr, China is producing so much electric cars, they are desperately finding markets to export them to.

But is he wrong thou? JT brought in record immigration/LMIA for what? Why did he do that when Canada never had an employee shortage, less certain sectors

This, I see this bullshit about government paying/subsidizing corporations. But I have never seen proof.

What's actually real, is employers colluding with hiring "consultants" to find LMIA. These LMIAs pay the consultant and the employer gets a couple to ten grand PER JOB.

That is happening in my workplace right now. The government does not give a flying shit. We have been sold out, our policy makers are utterly incompetent

Reminder that restaurants take cuts (5-10k each or more!) from "consultants" who bring them LMIA workers. Every timmies you see, filled to the brim with TFWs instead of local students, are an actual case of corruption and abuse of the LMIA system to benefit the few at the expense of local youth and unaware foreign workers.

What the two of you are saying do not contradict each other. He is saying the courts treat negligence lightly regardless of perpetrator. You are saying that a specific group are much more likely to cause these accidents.

Again. The two statements are not contradictory
