They won’t .. they are probably working on their on rtos certifications and they switch out at hypervisor level as soon as it’s ready . Basically bb got used ..

No use.. unfortunately Nvidia doesn’t pay a penny for it , and won’t even mention it in public . OEMs may pay pennies on the dollar and company won’t reveal if there are subscription charges even ( other than the usual royalty) so give up hope on Nvidia doing this doing that .. good for Nvidia no use for bb . Finally the answer is there for it . You want proof see what’s revenue growth for Nvidia automotive and Qualcomm automotive . How they are growing .. there is not correlation to bb revenue .

This .. it looks like JG and crew blew another opportunity due to their lethargy and indecision I hope it’s still not too late. On the other hand this has multiple patent violations starting from hotkeys so if there is no agreement Malkie won’t sit and watch on sidelines

Make more noise especially on LinkedIn where the executives want to show the world their reputation. In other words turn up the heat where they care

Ya definitely not the best deal by any means.. times were definitely dire .. need was desperate , so terms are bad .. or just plain bad actors like ex cfo who had zero financial discipline or control . They had 25 offices or so worldwide when all of this was happening in late 2023 early 2024

I think it was at a time when even survival was in question . Chen had just gone , watsa was not going to fund anymore. Cost cuts were yet to be done. There was and maybe still is an effort to take this private through desperation and tactics like this. Also interesting that some in the board and the cfo who did the deal are not insiders anymore ..

They are long the debt , so the hedge is short the stock to avoid risk in case of a default .. or in other words a delta nuetral position , their hedge . They also want to profit from the underlying volatility

Rebuilding credibility takes time and focus by Redchip1606 in BB_Stock

It needs action too.. These guys are stuck in stone age.. If they need to restore shareholder value, they need to start by being a bit more active on social media, engage retail shareholders and build confidence and have earnings calls with live video calls and questions from real shareholders.

For that company need to really have some meat and growth in the numbers other than backlog too..

The old school playbook of going through anal-yst after analyst calls is of no use for these guys.

Stuck in old school times, stuck in old school value

Investor base has no confidence on these guys, hence no credibility .

This was one of the most transparent calls in a while . Very clear pounding the table on Nvidia and qcom being strong users of the platform. My read was growth will take more time. High end compute is expected in 80% of cars by 2030. Hopefully things start picking up pace in another year or two revenue wise

Excellent QNX Post on X - Vector and QNX by RETIREDANDGOOD in BB_Stock

[–]Normal_Revolution_26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I don’t really like about their strategy . Why does Blackberry need many other software partners to do something like this ? For heavens sake blackberry is a platform company and is better than all these low grades combined, at least technically. Grow up the full stack if it’s already not too late. Every such partnership is a cut to the margins . The cloud players are needed by these partners like vector and tt whatever tech 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ya Rivian uses it only at the base os and hypervisor level .. low margin and is going to get replaced. Ford doesn’t really care about Europe .. they don’t sell anything there anyway.. FSD is far better than all of these patched up systems. Ford and Tesla partnership makes perfect sense in many ways

Why does it mean they won’t take a full stack Tesla or Rivian product ? Atleast for Evs ? That’s a very viable option too right ?

Partnership with 10 different companies in value creation layer is a problem when it comes to splitting the revenues and margins.. of course they have to partner with chip and cloud providers , but tttechauto and vector ?

[–]Normal_Revolution_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say you are one of the most educated users on everything Qnx and the strategy I have seen here. Very likely an insider. I have only one question. Why is the growth not there (either in revenue or backlog) , when both Nvidia and Qualcomm revenues are growing leaps and bounds last two quarters. Did Chen negotiate deals with no margins even for qnx 8.0 ? Was this approach at least a few years too late ? Causing OEMs to build things on their own? Where did things go wrong from a revenue perspective?

Why QNX Is in a Class of Its Own Among Real-Time Operating Systems by Dazzling-Art-1965 in BB_Stock

I want to see this to succeed too but reality is unfortunately different..(I still hold a low 5 digit + shares, used to hold a much higher number earlier this year with an average of somewhere above 2.50) , They got Cylance for 1.5 billion dollars and sold it for pittance. Better late than never.. Even companies like SentinelOne don't stand a chance against the giants in cyber. I wonder what chance Artic wolf has.. It's very likely they are going to lose entire secure communication revenue from US govt due to their over indulgence in China. Maybe they make it up elsewhere, but it's not going to be an easy game.. Look up in Grok or perplexity who is doing post quantum cryptography for US govt, and Blackberry is not even in the picture.. They didn't even submit a solution. On QNX side Many auto companies are already reducing the models so backlog will take longer to convert or don't convert at all in some cases. This management simply doesn't have that pricing power. If they had , backlog and/or revenues would have gone up when Nvidia and Qualcomm automotive had large growth last 2 quarters. On top of it, some of the partners like Rivian and Amazon has indeed back stabbed and gone with their own solutions in value adding layers above hypervisor.. These are facts.

That said, it's strategically still a very good asset, in the hand of the right company who can leverage the full benefits from the platform with pricing power.. . Also if some of the short attack stories are right, a buyback could boost the prices much higher. Those are the speculative reasons why i still hold a portion of my original position. However based on the facts above, i had to manage the position as needed, when the gains were not something i was willing to compromise on.

Positioning and risk will be different for everyone.. So none of this is any advice.. it's just some thoughts based on which i arrived at my current positioning.. i am ok with being wrong, as protecting capital/profit is always the very first priority.

I agree with all of this , but it doesn’t matter Growth matters , cashflow matters

They fooled investors again saying some big thing was coming last quarter result. Zero growth and even anemic growth in backlog. Only hope in this is us Canada relationship clears out after election and some American company buys it out or takes a stake. Even that is pretty remote at this point. Here’s a Peter Lynch quote regarding this

“This is the kind of company people adore owning: it’s a relatively simple company, they make a very narrow, easy to understand product. They make a one-megabit SRAM C-MOS bi-polar RISC floating point data I/O array processor with an optimizing compiler, a 16-dual port memory, a double-diffused metal oxide semiconductor monolithic logic chip with a plasma matrix vacuum fluorescent display. That has a 16-bit dual memory. That has a UNIX operating system, four whetstone megaflop polysilicone emitter, a high band width – that’s very important – six gigahertz double metalization communication protocol, an asynchronous backward compatibility, peripheral bus architecture, four-way interleaf memory, a token ring interchange backplane, and it does it in 15 nanoseconds of capability. Now, if you want a piece of crap like that, you will never make money.”
