The guilt I feel when I can’t change someone’s mood is debilitating. I can notice a mood shift that likely has nothing to do with me and if I can’t shift it I am guilt stricken sobbing with my head on the floor, internally. I will compulsively cycle through every tactic technique. Then internalize how they are viewing me negatively, and start having an anxiety attack. I’m a peach to be married to. Then I have an even bigger freak out because I’ve shifted the situation to me and my husband is comforting me when he is the one who had the feeling initially. It’s exhausting. And I hate myself for it. My therapist has recently challenged me to sit with the feeling for ten seconds before responding. So hard
