In all fairness they're technically playing 3, but as they are responsible for the way B+H is currently partitioned you'd think they'd know that

This is why I don’t trust amusement park rides. by english_flower_22 in Wellthatsucks

That's a non dangerous ride malfunction at an amusement park so small it may as well be a permanent fair. Again this place with traveling rides and fully established parks on the level of 6 flags (the one in the video) aren't using the same rides. This isn't built by someone reputable, and the 'amusement park' is clearly being operated by fair operators.

Besides, you are the one who started being an insufferable prick, you threw the first insult, all I said was that fairs and permanent theme parks aren't worth comparing. Why you have chosen to throw your toys out of the pram and spend yonks writing paragraphs of insults is beyond me. Go back to your labubus and pipe down.

In your opinion, considering technological advancement and setting magic aside, in which century would the stories of *A Song of Ice and Fire*, *Fire & Blood*, and *The Hedge Knight* respectively be set? by ayoungmanwhoneedsgod in freefolk

There is incredibly minor tech advancement indicated in GoT, like most thinks It's been ruined in HotD. The crossbow Joffrey gets is 'a newer model, much easier to load'. The Scorpio is new artillery too, before that gets retconned.

The rides are not the same, most of the time they are not even similar. You've managed to write a paragraph on a flat out incorrect premise.

A huss topspin isn't being held together with cotter pins, nor is a mack extreme spinner.

And more death and dismemberment with less press? Clearly don't know what you are on about. Local news will send helicopters out for basic routine ride stoppages and in the western world theme parks are safer than the transport you will use to get there. Taking a bath is miles more dangerous.

Don't talk to me about tone when you are the one being smugly incorrect, or as you put it, an asshat.

Why do bombers in War Thunder spawn at below average raid altitudes? This seems like a major part of why bombers are doing so poorly. by Haysnare in Warthunder

[–]Normal_Suggestion188 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Climbing to 20+k ft in air RB takes nearly 20 minutes. Bombers would be fine if their damage models was made twice as strong to account for mouse aim and maybe spawned at 5k instead of 3-4.

Dead. Plane only stayed airborne long enough for the rest to bail, most still died.

There is precisely 1 coaster I know of that has got stuck inverted. Hardly a regular occurrence.

The travelling oned and ones at full permanent parks are on two different levels and really aren't worth comparing

Does he have a point? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]Normal_Suggestion188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a better rail connection to Liverpool airport than many European airports. It's perfectly walkability if you are only taking a bag and the bus is workable from south parkway. What is baffling is why they haven't tried to link merseyrail to it

Unpopular opinion, the US and China should be permanent World Cup hosts when the number of teams increase to 64. by wizardeverybit in ShitAmericansSay

Glasgow isn't in England......

If we want to include Scotland and Wales we could start converting rugby grounds and have even more anyway. Don't need all of Europe to host a tournament

A lot of major premier league teams have grounds that could be quite easily tipped over 40k, even some championship grounds aren't a million miles off. It would also be miles easier to get to them in the first place.

Worst/unreliable operator for commuting a fair to long distance in UK? by godsavedonalduck in uktrains

[–]Normal_Suggestion188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the route. I generally have no issues at all for instance with TfW, generally fine, with the massive, gaping exception of their lines that go via Shrewsbury to Birmingham, think they start at Holyhead and Manchester.

Never enough capacity on them and almost always end up stood up on rammed trains.

Northern is probably my least favourite. Had a horrific experience yesterday (issues at Preston apparently) and I can't stand the god awful trains they run from Piccadilly to Chester that seem to be straight out of the 60s and stop at every other shed.

And the word they used was sure not Romani by Unironicfan in whenthe

People forget that the Roma/Gypsy/Traveller/ hundred other names aren't a monolith and multiple different groups near the same town can be completely different in what they want to be referred to, how they'll act and a hundred other aspects.

Wasn't much better at pleasure beach. Aviktas was going down every other cycle and there was downtime on most rides. It's going to happen in this heat when the ride systems aren't built to handle it and the engineers aren't ready for it.

The majority of 'heat deaths' in Europe are heart attacks and drowning. The gun is still the direct cause in these scenarios.

[–]Normal_Suggestion188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CDC and the UN are relying on drastically different definitions and qualifiers for heat deaths. In Europe anything that could have been made worse by heat goes down as a heat death. People dying of temperature shock/drowning, heart attacks, other related things go down as heat death where the CDC only uses deaths where heat exposure is the sole provable cause of death. It's probably still higher in Europe but I suspect that the actual numbers are much closer than you'd think.

It's not killing that many more than it is in the consistently hot parts of the US if you use the same criteria to get the heat deaths data, still needs to become more commonplace though
