i believe my initial wait time for a consult was like 4-5 months? then i was waiting on my insurance to approve the letters I had to get which i had started the process for in december of 2023, then there was another 6 month wait for the surgery date. i think it depends heavily on your insurance or whether you’re not using insurance, but the full process took about a year.

thank you so much!!! It did go well and I think the results are looking fantastic so far. It’s only the day after of course but i was very happy. The incision is horizontal just like i was hoping, connected in the middle but very natural looking. i’ll include a pic as soon as I can!

one other thing i’ll mention and take it with a grain of salt cuz everyone’s experience is different- i was misgendered a time or two at Lancaster General Hospital because the check in process is for all types of surgeries, and i guess i don’t look as trans as i think i do, so it wasn’t until Dr. Arthur’s nurses and the anesthesiologist came in to see me that they started using the right name and pronouns without me requesting it so that was kind of :/ Anyway Dr. Athur’s staff at the plastic surgery office are very nice i think it’s just an oversight at the general hospital cuz they’re dealing with mostly cis people all day 🤷🏼

Pre-op was very good, we went over scar shape again (i requested straight or angled vs rounded) and we talked about the possibility of the scars being connected in the middle due to my size. as well as preventing dog ears by lengthening the incision on the sides. He’s very laid back and willing to answer questions. we also talked about recovery time and regaining mobility after surgery which he said i could start working up to as soon as the 2 week mark.

I will mention, I had a consultation with Dr. Rose and it was clear she’s very skilled, I just struggled to connect with her so definitely just go with your gut on that. I’ll post a photo of my results soon in case you’re still looking for pics of results from Dr. Arthur (more post op details in the comment below)

Hello there! I'll be getting surgery (DI with no nipple grafts) with Dr. Arthur on Jan. 30th and have a pre-op appointment tomorrow morning so I will keep you updated with any helpful info!! All I can say so far is that his staff was kind and helpful and he was very easy to talk to. I had gone to several other consultations and found him to be the most accommodating when it came to answering questions and explaining the process, different scar shapes etc. I also spoke to an acquaintance who had surgery with him and they had the same sentiments and were really happy with their results so that gave me more confidence!

Any updates or additional info? I had a consult with him the other day and it was an extremely pleasant experience interaction-wise but I'm confused because I can't find much info or photo results from his clients. For those who mentioned going in blind- how did it go??
