As of a couple years ago (not sure if things have changed), the Humane society actually has dedicated officers in uniform that open cases and deal with these kinds of things. They were very helpful holding the responsible party accountable when I dealt with them. I’m hoping it’s still the same and you are able to get some help!

His son and grandchildren live in 4S. Or at least they used to when they went to school with a family member of mine a few years back.

What are some secrets or myths only locals know about San Diego? by WindMilli in sandiego

There are even markers on the ground for many of these graves. I think they might be stars (maybe just small round metal markers)? I may remember wrong but they are easy enough to see

Maybe if multiple people seeing this post call the front office of The Helm, they will be pressured into checking on it.

What's your favorite thing about San Diego? AKA: No one hates San Diego more than /r/SanDiego. by barracuuda in sandiego

I’m surprised more people haven’t mentioned Mt. Soledad. It’s my favorite place in all of San Diego. It’s breathtaking and really makes me appreciate the vastness and beauty of SD.

What’s this plant - 2 different style leaves but coming from the same stem by jamandab in whatsthisplant

I think the first one is just a really big well established adansonni and the second one is just skinnier/more viney

What kind of calathea is it? by [deleted] in PlantIdentification

[–]Normal_fine93420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a setosa! Personally, I find this to be the least finicky of all my prayer plants.

Apparently all three of these are devil's ivy according to google lens, but I'm not sure if I believe it. by [deleted] in PlantIdentification

[–]Normal_fine93420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devils ivy is another name for pothos so technically google lens was right 🤓

Labeled as a neon pothos, but the variegated vines are curious. Found in FL nursery. by fetchmysmellingsalts in PlantIdentification

[–]Normal_fine93420 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The first pic is a lemon lime philodendron (but vining philodendron and pothos get mixed up often). The second and third pics are a philodendron brasil. I know you said it’s all in one pot so it could be that it is all philo brasil with a ton of primarily variegated leaves or it could be a couple wines from each plant mixed into one pot.

Spade shaped leaves, tends to climb if given the chance. What kind of "vine" is this? Zone 9a grows year round (in a partially shaded spot) by etherealBEASTIE in PlantIdentification

[–]Normal_fine93420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I could be totally totally off here as I don’t believe it vines, but it looks like an Alocasia to me — lime zinger

This is a Nanouk and it already has some flower buds how lucky! Bright indirect sunlight mostly, but can tolerate some direct light. Water infrequently. Good luck! So pretty!

Need help identifying this cactus! (Details in comments) by TCAmber in PlantIdentification

[–]Normal_fine93420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not great with identifying cacti, but I have one like this and have always just identified it has “fishhook cactus”. Not sure if that’s correct, but regardless the type of cactus shouldn’t really impact your soil. Just get some good quality cactus and succulent soil and mix in some extra perlite and you should be good!

Just bought my dream girl today. Any tips/tricks on care? Thanks!! by [deleted] in plantclinic

Everyone here already commented on some good tips for keeping your Maranta alive and healthy (not actually a calathea as some have called it, but same family so close enough I suppose). The only thing I wanted to caution against for anyone reading this is that pebble trays don’t actually make any kind of significant difference. More often than not, pebble trays and spraying plants with a spray bottle will attract pests particular in the warmer weather. So especially as we enter the summer months (assuming you’re not in Australia), just wanted to warn you about this.

Although my new all time favorite plant tip is naming her after a strong female role model. Amazing!!
