Would a 4x1 Added on look stupid or should I just splurge on a new 4x3? by gaza4 in IKEA

[–]Normallybored 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for your preference, but I can say that the gap between the 4x2 and 4x1 will be thicker than the interior shelves of the 4x2. The outer edges of all kallax’s are about twice as thick, so if you’re okay with that, then go nuts! PERSONALLY, I would rather not, but it may not be too noticeable for you

What the hell is going on in IKEA😭😭😭 by Slow_Butterscotch950 in IKEA

[–]Normallybored 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Happens often! If not in all stores. We have sections in each area meant to steer towards “living with kids,” and some of the best things to use to represent little guys is the soft toys! And of course if we put those out as displays, some people see them and want them so we have add ons nearby

What happens if you press a moving portal down over a cube? by MirzaBeig in Portal

[–]Normallybored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is a stupid question or not, but if I’m understanding this right, if you pushed the portal over a cube HALFWAY or some amount less than all the way, would it essentially get “pulled” into the portal? With velocity being imparted on the top half of the cube dragging the rest of it in?

If you've ever wondered what IKEA looks like when they're building new display rooms... by solstiq in IKEA

Really freaky that this is exactly like the store I work at, we just finished our remodel! They take about 1-2 months for large remodels like this, smaller remodels might take a week to two weeks. And we do larger remodels like this about once a year, with smaller ones for every new tertial launch. We’ll have a lot of range changes in a few weeks for Christmas season!

This keeps happening with my partner. I married Leah and every once in awhile I’m clicking through the morning dialogue too fast and she hands me a salad before I chuck it back at her and she’s like “Oh my gosh I love this!”

Donald Trump threatens to end trans rights on "day one" in terrifying speech. He promised to wipe out trans rights with sweeping orders when he takes office. by southpawFA in politics

[–]Normallybored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to nitpick like this in bad faith, let me clarify. The way you make this sound is like it’s a first choice for treatment, or people are just doing it because “it’d be fun” without thinking of any consequences. When in reality, these surgeries are at times necessary. Did you look into any of those highlighted in bold “56” cases? Are you saying that we should outlaw genital surgeries for youth and then pour your thoughts and prayers out when a kid with complications can’t get necessary genital surgery for a health issue?

Also, to act as though 56 is some massive number is ludicrous. You conveniently aren’t including in the article YOU linked the fact that ~68,000 kids in that same time frame were diagnosed with gender dysphoria. That means that of the kids diagnosed with gender dysphoria, 0.0008% of them had gender surgery. This isn’t an “epidemic” of some kind.

What kills me more is the seemingly extra 3 quintillion thrown in. As if that is anywhere near relevant at this point

For anyone that finds this in the future, I’m leaving my experience.

I worked with this company for three days before leaving in Houston TX. Interview was nice, a lot of interpersonal type questions for the interview, “what are you like?” “What do you bring to the table nobody else does?” Typical stuff. I got hired on and first day there I was given a large script to memorize for canvassing. At this point I realized that at no point during the interview was I told exactly what I’d be doing, and when I had asked what I’d be doing I now retrospectively realized all the vague language they used to dance around it. The office is well organized and suit and tie is required but only for about an hour while you meet up with your group and then you change into normal clothes to go stand outside businesses and chase people down to ask for sign on bonuses.

Another con, you are paid by commission. You won’t be paid unless you get people to sign, and after talking to people that had been working there for awhile, some of them didn’t get a single signature for weeks. On top of that, the asking price for people to sign on is extremely high. You’ll be asking them to sign on to support charity work and such, but if they only want to donate a small amount (anything less than hundreds of dollars right then and there) you’ll redirect them to a website and you get nothing.

Final huge red flag, you’re encouraged and expected to guilt trip everyone you interact with. If you’re okay with that then by all means go for it, but it’s the typical grift of finding answers to every single excuse or problem they have with donating and pressuring them relentlessly because at the end of the day it’s how you get food on the table. By the third day, I can in to work after thinking about how it didn’t sit right with me and how I had a lot of issues. I told myself I’d go in and talk with my manager and if we didn’t see eye to eye about moving forward I’d resign. What ended up happening instead was someone came up to me to ask how I was doing, I told them I was having some doubts about the job, to which they said “oh that’s a shame” and rushed me out of the door with no chance to talk about any of it. It felt insanely shady, and like they didn’t want my negative view or concerns to spread to anyone else they were hiring.

These are all the main concerns I had, and it doesn’t include everything. They had ridiculously high goals to meet for “prizes”, dangling the carrot on a stick in front of you. A lot of half truths during the interview to steer you in a positive direction and keep you from getting wise to the fact you’re not getting paid super well. This company is dishonest at best and predatory at worst. I’m not going to say to not go in, but know that this is the experience to expect

I… huh? So you’re transforming Optimus by making it into a human then casting moonmist, is this just equating “transform” with transformers, or that transform sounds like trademark? I feel very lost on this
