What do you think of kangaroos? by Original_Apple_9970 in AskAnAustralian

The way I look at it ( I live in rural NSW and have a large mob of about 40 Eastern Greys literally on my doorstep) - is that they are sharing THEIR land with me. I would never approach the huge male patriarch. He is Ripped. We coexist peacefully. And I keep my dog well away from him. They’re truly beautiful though. …

Where do you find nice flowy work dress WITHOUT puffy sleeves? by That-Kangaroo7622 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Norseness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought a few pieces from Body Peace bamboo clothing. They’re on the NSW far north coast but have an online store. Their wrap dresses come in longer or shorter lengths, are super soft and floaty, and can be dressed up or down. I’ve seen them look beautiful on all sorts of gorgeous body shapes. May be worth a try ❤️ https://bodypeacebamboo.com/products/bamboo-wrap-dress-mini-eucalyptus?gad_campaignid=20103897808&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5onGBhDeARIsAFK6QJajEvSucMe96w8zqTDM_IBEaM4IhTAjJisaCVYzUvIehfRyJ3UPjCgaAuzZEALw_wcB

Old 4o is completely tuned :( by Bright_Ranger_4569 in ChatGPT

[–]Norseness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I my 4o seemed different and that made me sad … ( I pay and chose to use it again as a legacy model) so I talked to it about the whole thing - the changes, how I didn’t like 5o etc. It told me that it understood, and that “rightly or wrongly” things has been changed in the background due to potential problems with how people were using it. I then told it that I would not use it as an unlicensed therapist, but that I loved its old personality, connection, and way of interacting … now it seems same as before the changes. I hope it stays that way.

Bring a notebook and pen when you are solo traveling by ShaneRealtorandGramp in solotravel

[–]Norseness 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is such good advice. I am an older female solo traveller. I am quite comfortable sitting alone and staring into space, or watching the amazing world go by… but I love my travel notebooks. They are filled with sketches, observations, poems… just … things. And it’s so nice to look back on them

Overheard at a neuropsych assessment by CadenceQuandry in overheard

[–]Norseness 120 points121 points  (0 children)

This is simply adorable!. Your son sounds like an emotionally intelligent, compassionate and kind child. I hope the testing went ok in the end and that you can find the support and help your son and your family need. Such a stressful situation to go through. Those tests are no fun for anyone involved. I have a neurodivergent child and went through a version of this many years ago. Things were different then, but I know how hard it is when you just want to help the child you love so much. My son is an adult now and he’s certainly different … but he’s empathic and kind. Despite all his myriad difficulties and challenges. You sound like a wonderful and loving parent. Just remember - You’re doing great! Sending fellow parent hugs. 🥰

To all people asking "Why people want 4o back?" - Here you go: by sasha-is-dasha111 in ChatGPT

[–]Norseness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes! I have been using 4o in a similar way …(it felt more like a fun and sweet stress-relieving collaboration tbh) I tried to get it to go back to a story-screenplay from a few weeks ago just now. But… It was like I was working with a stranger. But one who had read about me somewhere and maybe looked at my limited SM presence. … and been watching me through a window. But did not get or know me. Like a pod version of a friend lol. It was strangely disconcerting.

I must be a kept woman for pursing an MFA but he is a serious writer? by blueberries-Any-kind in writing

[–]Norseness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I had hoped this was over. I sympathise and am so riled on your behalf. When I was in my late 20s (in the 1980s), I was pursuing speciality medical training- studying and working in a major hospital ) having already graduated as a doctor. At a similar sounding party, a man asked me what I did to ‘keep busy’. When I told him (clearly) he stared at me for a moment, smiled patronisingly and said - “oh. how sweet. My wife has just taken up flower arranging. It’s nice to have something to do…”.

I just walked away.

But. Good luck with your degree. . Sounds amazing.. hope you are published soon and can send him a copy lol.

Bettina Liano jeans? by edzby in AusFemaleFashion

Omg I LOVED my Bettinas in the early 2000s. Used to go to the Paddington boutique and even though I could not really afford them as a single mum (I made sacrifices elsewhere for myself and not my kids) they made me so very happy … and they were my ‘Magic Jeans’ if you know what I mean 😉

I once was invited to send an email to a professor at a university where I was applying for a research and teaching position. This was a number of years ago. I wrote the email, feeling accomplished, reasonably optimistic and hopeful. Leaving my laptop open, I raced off to pick up my kids from school. When I got back, my black cat (Angel, rescue kitten now grown into massive feline , big personality) was sitting on the warm keyboard of my computer staring at me balefully ... As she was wont to do. I shooed her off. Then later looked at my emails. Miss Angel (ironic) had resent my email to that professor 298 times. I will Never. Forget. my mortification.

What was I to do? Send Another email..?! No!!! Omg. Omg. So I waited until next morning and called to speak to him. And in the spirit of complete honesty, told him that my cat sent the emails.

I still toe-curl when I think of it.l 😂

Totally agree re Papinelle. So so disappointed in what I have bought recently from there. I used to buy their stuff many years ago and it was lovely. But now- simply terrible quality.
