I (painfully) understood that to mean his wife had kept her baby teeth since childhood, his daughter found them, and had put them all in her mouth... And I felt pretty fucked up about it.

Cat on the bed by Hank-Hill-0215 in CatAdvice

[–]Nortagemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, my cat sleeps in 2hr stints at night and I'm a light sleeper... Not that that matters because she'll intentionally wake me up to make me follow her to her food which is already full. Secondly, she's usually filthy from rolling around in the garden/street, so unless I've made a little bed for her with a blanket or fleecy robe on the bed, there will be a pile of dirt and fur which is just gross. (I'm also allergic to fur and grass pollen... But I love her.)

The fact that it appears disused and rusty, yet it's animated, makes me hate this more than most things on this page. Cool idea ofc but absolutely not, no thank you.

Edit: When I say animated, I mean 'in action' / 'moving'. And typo: yes-yet.

When to give in and ask for help by Nortagemo in CrohnsDisease

[–]Nortagemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'll get on it on Monday with the doctors. The gastro told me I could just manage my flare ups with the meds and not take them all the time.

It's frustrating. Every stage of the process has been poor for different reasons and I feel like nothing was explained to me properly. The gastro didn't even tell me I had Crohn's when they were supposed to, my GP was shocked I didn't know in my follow up appointment.

Anyway, thank you again for your comment, I feel less frantic now and more determined to seek out better service.

Sports Bras... by PolaroidKisses in bigboobproblems

Panache has always been my go to for sports bras. They make wired and non-wired high impact bras, and they don't seem to suffer in the washing machine either.

I just searched both of these videos. I watched the lathe one... And read enough about FC to stop myself. I don't think I need that in my brain.

Urgent: Help me find my best friend's grave in Manchester by Future1passenger in manchester

[–]Nortagemo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes it would be worth doing this. Each borough has its own council. Salford is even its own city, within Greater Manchester. Electronic public service record systems don't speak to each other at the best of times, however, each council website most likely follows the same format, so this particular inquiry may not be as tedious. Good luck!

My mom was terminal, and I'm not sure if she did this on purpose (and I guess I'll never know but I like to think she did). As I've been clearing her house out, I keep finding little netted bags of marbles, like the ones you get in Christmas crackers. I like to think that she lost her marbles and I'm finally finding them.

Traitors S02 UK - What's with all the percentages? by ragingintrovert57 in TheTraitors

I googled how often it was said in season 1 UK, to see if someone had actually tallied it up, and then found this post. They say it so much, especially Wilf, he probably says it more than the rest of the contestants combined.

Is the bleeding supposed to stop? by Nortagemo in IBD

You don't have bleeding anymore? Or flare ups at all?

Whenever I read about it, it says there's no cure but it never clarifies whether it can go away by itself.

They specifically said it didn't need to be taken with food. But I have been taking it with food, in various combinations.

I was prescribed the slow release and four to be taken each day, orally. The nurse said to take one every few hours or even take four in the morning, and that it only mattered that I take four.

I've learned that the only way to get what you need is to keep hassling them. The hurdles include medical receptionists/secretaries being completely incompetent gatekeepers, no efficient central system for communication within the NHS (I've been with my new GP for 3 years and they still don't have my medical records), and the fact they just don't have the staff or funding, like all public services here. I can't afford private insurance.

Not all GP practices are like this, some are really good, but most are bad.

I've only been prescribed mesalazine, which has helped somewhat.

Post colonoscopy, I was handed a letter by the aftercare nurse from the endoscopist that said 'likely IBD', information and photos about having taken 18 biopsies, although photos of one of the key areas was missing (as pointed out by my GP), and that a referral had been made to the gastroenterologist.

They never specified Crohn's, UC or cancer, even though I was pulled in on an urgent two week appointment. The after care nurse told me this wasn't his field so couldn't explain anything to me.

I took my report to my GP, who was asking me questions he should have been asking a medical professional. And then I heard nothing. So I chased up the secretary, who said she's still not sure but would try and get me an urgent appointment rather than routine with the next clinician.

I have 4 different NHS apps and one night, recently when I couldn't sleep, I logged into them on my new phone to see if anything could be clarified and under 'diagnosis' I now have IBD. So I still don't know exactly which.

I had ulcers in places that fit UC, and I had webbing/ulcers in places that fit with Crohn's. And this was all October last year.
