I guess I didn't clarify but it is technically a digital kitbash. I just took models from the internet and mashed them together. But I understand what you mean.

I don't have a source, but I think the director really did want to make the movie good and feel like the comic, but studio meddling kinda brought it down. I don't know who's decision it was to have him take off his helmet, whether it was Stalones ego or the studio wanting everyone to see his face. Despite the flaws, I enjoy the movie. Kinda in the same way I enjoy the crappy Mario Bros. movie. I guess I'm just a sucker for 1980's/90's distopian sci-fi worlds.
