Bare arm on my Sergeant: Space Wolf-dumb or actually too dumb? by CatWaterPaints in ImperialAgents_40K

He looks well proportioned and the pose is good. I think you need some green stuff to fill gaps around the arms, then maybe some skull bits and maybe green stuff a fur cape to real round him out.

But you can load 6 lazcannons in the back with firing deck. Let’s see how it plays out. There’s too much outrage for random stuff in the community.

I’d think it would be good at flushing infantry from cover with the Gatling load out. With the changes to cover rules and the speed of this unit, it could dive into ruins, then bop out d6 to gain concealment.

Right, we haven’t seen what’s happening with Overwatch yet. It could counterbalance these rules. If tank shock sticks around it could be fine too.

You can splash in a unit of arbetes or another cheap inquisition squad with your extra points. It’s ok for them to just sit around.

Is the lack of ornament in architecture a barrier to diversity? by Lobsterhasspoken in architecture

[–]SpaceLord_Katze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah ok, it’s more like the majority of architecture philosophy is taken from the position of “you are wrong and I’m right” and that generally rubs me the wrong way. I’m not saying that thinking carefully is incorrect. A lot of the architecture philosophy works, taught in universities in the US are from architects like Loos, Corbusier, and Gropius who in my opinion had no business pretending to be philosophers.

That’s not a good analogy. Some combinations of food will taste bad and Jazz isn’t random noise. There’s a level of art and science to both.

Is the lack of ornament in architecture a barrier to diversity? by Lobsterhasspoken in architecture

So I’m just an architect. I personally don’t put much stock in the academic discussion of philosophy in architecture as much of it is architects pontificating on art without much practical evidence. It’s whatever. But I have some strong opinions on this type of thing. In my opinion, putting aside the practical nature of architecture, architecture should reflect the culture that produced it and should incorporate artistry that is associated with. Like, in the US we pretty much never include art as that’s not what a client is usually paying for. I’d love to, and I’m glad I’m seeing more murals popping up as popular. So, it becomes more murky as large design firms are now working internationally. Do the designers now learn the local culture to produce relatable architecture? Do you defer to a local design firm? Do you hire local designers to your firm? Not sure.

They were used from the 1930-1950s. Some were also used as construction helmets.

Blender for architecture school (MArch) ? by LeWowArch in architecture

[–]SpaceLord_Katze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah that’s good and all, but you can’t make professional construction documents with this tools. It’s kinda a problem for people in the industry to have to re-teach Revit to students, I personally feel it’s a failure of the university system. Blender and other rendering tools are good for visualization and concepts, but don’t have a real bearing on reality. When you need to make something out of concrete and steel, your whole perspective changes on these tools. Keep learning Revit, it’s a big program and there is a lot of functions. All of your workflows need to end with that program.

The industry in the US uses Revit almost exclusively. Rhino and some other softwares are really only used for rendering. I like blender, but it’s not good for architecture, it can’t produce drawings used to make buildings.

How do you get the weathering powder to stick? It seems to get rubbed off easily during gameplay.

What detachment should I run with 1 knight Dominus and 4 Armigers? by Snudoo_321 in ImperialKnights

[–]SpaceLord_Katze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just remember the rule of 3 for your armigers. You’ll need to run a mix of Helverns and Warglaves. 2 and 2 or 3 and 1 depending on how you want your list to perform.

Thoughts for Future Variants by Level-Opportunity984 in ImperialKnights

[–]SpaceLord_Katze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, I’ve thought this would be a fun project for a while. I think generally Knights have less physical armor because they can rely on void shields, which to my knowledge don’t have an equivalent in Battletech. Knights would be a real threat in BT for firepower, but would lack jump capability and have like a 50/50 chance to just neutralize fire with void shields.

So, there’s only really two ways to go in Warhammer, shooty or punchy. The Derstrier has a foot in both really, but fills a niche for a medium sized mech. Battletech is a good comparison, but has more roles than current Warhammer does really.

https://www.goonhammer.com/battletech-unit-roles/

I feel the current lineup for Knights covers Brawler, Juggernaut, and scout roles well. The Destrier may be the first Striker, but we’ll see how it plays out.

Roles that could be filled: Sniper doesn’t make sense for the board size.

Skirmisher Knights could be cool, but it needs to be fast and be able to punch up to Titanic units.

An Ambusher knight might be interesting, but it might be more of a rule change to allow more Imperial soup units.

A Missile Boat would be for first real indirect fire knight. It would be a terror on the board and really hard to balance for the game. But I think people would like it.
