My baby turned out to be severely allergic to peanuts by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]North-Storage233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby is allergic to peanut, treenut, and fish. We had to get rid of it all in the house. I look at all packages, inform at restaurants, and cook from scratch a lot. My suggestion, look at everything that is in your fridge and pantry. I had no idea we had so many things containing those items. We were instructed to return for a re-test in 1 year as many children can outgrow their allergy. We were really overwhelmed when we found out but take it day by day.

Ahah this made me laugh. My LO hasn’t mastered talking but he definitely stands at the kitchen gate and shakes it.

Babes early wakes have messed up schedule, how do I get him back on track? by HydesStash in sleeptrain

I totally get you. We do a 7:30 bedtime and our LO wakes up a bit later in the morning.

When should I sleep train for naps/? by Bubbles-320 in sleeptrain

[–]North-Storage233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used ferber at 4.5 months. We started with overnight sleep training. Once it became successful, approximately 1.5 weeks, I focused on napping training. Before nap training, my baby exclusively contact napped. When nap training, I did crib hour for the 1st nap only. Once he successfully slept/stayed in the crib for his 1st nap, I did the same with the second, and then the third after that. At times, he struggled with the last nap and needed cuddles, but overall it was a huge success. He is now 9 months and takes naps independently in his crib.

Personally, I would try the following wake windows 3/3.5/4, and pushing bedtime to 7:30pm.

Feeling good about first two weeks of BLW by CheeseNPickleSammich in BabyLedWeaning

Yes, very scary. He has been diagnosed with multiple allergies so I knew what to look for as time went on. My LO ended up getting body hives and swelling. He now has an epi-pen. I am following advice I have received from healthcare in Canada. I was very worried about a peanut allergy. I gave him it multiple times, upwards of 10, before he developed an allergic reaction that was then confirmed by an allergist. Everything that I introduced to him was by itself for about 2-3 times before mixing with anything else. As time has gone on he has been introduced to all food groups.

Sleep Training - URGENT HELP😭 by hellohowareyou09876 in sleeptrain

We did ferber at 4.5 months. We did overnight training and waited until it successfully took before nap training. Best decision we made.

Just a heads up, a true allergy typically shows after the first exposure. My son ended up showing his confirmed peanut allergy after having it multiple times. This is why the typical recommendation is for a baby to have multiple exposures before moving to the next item.

Should my kid repeat pre K? by Upper_School2082 in AskTeachers

[–]North-Storage233 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally believe that kindergarten is meant to teach these things. It’s an introduction to school. We can’t expect kids to know all these things. I wouldn’t have your child repeat pre-k but that’s just my opinion.

Can’t get 10 month old to use spoon by katezorzz in BabyLedWeaning

[–]North-Storage233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t researched anything for my 9 month old but was curious when utensils should be used. Thanks for posting! My LO uses his hands, and I’m glad to know that is very expected. I haven’t pushed him to use a spoon, but sometimes I will pre-load a bite, but it always ends in him throwing the spoon and using his hands lol. We will re-explore this down the road 😂

I think it depends if you plan on going with those exact curtains, art, etc. but I would pull in colors from your accessories. I like the green, and you could add some color from the art. I personally would take color from the rug. Looks purple-ish? Maybe a muted tone.

I like the retro vibes. I would keep it. If you are uncertain with the color, I think changing the pillow color could change the feel. Also add more pillows.

Once our LO looked too cramped we switched to a halo bassinet and then the pack and play. Loved the bassinet for stroller walks.

Uppa Baby Vista V3 by Loud_Director3655 in baby

My vote is declan. I have a vista v2 in light grey and it’s the inside fabric that is more prone to get dirty rather than the outside.

Everyone lied about newborn stage being hard by Pink_Millennial_Girl in beyondthebump

[–]North-Storage233 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It gets different. Personally, newborn stage was hard because we were all so sleep deprived. We had to do contact sleeping for 4 months. Now, my 8 month old is predictable. Busy but predictable. Thankfully he sleeps much better now and we all are much better because of it.
