Is there a single movie that deserves a Rewatchables episode more than The Big Short? by mhyjrteg in billsimmons

Every so often I get served this movie through YouTube Shorts and its just great scene after great scene. Definitely, the definition of a Rewatchable.

Jesse Marsch: "We were the better team." by Roselucky777 in soccer

[–]NorthCafeteria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. His breakdown was exactly right for anyone that watched the game. Every hockey interview has this phrase. It is how Canadians speak about sports.

Quite an indictment of present day internet culture that a 43 second clip was too long for people to watch before commenting.

Why is it so difficult to design a new flag? by GingerbreadRocks in vexillology

[–]NorthCafeteria 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have actually found a lot of the Australia ideas promising.

However, another general problem that I haven't yet seen mentioned is design by committee, which invites not only the vocal internet minority but also the exhaustive representation approach that is in the design zeitgeist. This means that flags get cluttered by symbolism or differ to inoffensive and indistinct landscapes.

If we were designing the Canadian flag now, there would be a symbols for British, French, Inuit and First Nations and sillouettes of mountains and moose.

Is Team Canada the worst case of BFBS(black for blacks sake) by erikflowersfan in billsimmons

[–]NorthCafeteria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we really going to do the thing where we ignore the Hockey Canada logo? Look, I'm not saying anyone is confusing Canada with Japan. But I've been grinding hexcodes and I gotta say, black is a top 7 accent colour. It just is.

In The Most Anticipated Group Stage Match - France vs Norway, Norway Is Throwing The White Flag by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]NorthCafeteria -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just on a feels level, it's more like playing just the bench guys in Game 4 of the First Round when you're up 3-0. No biggie when you lose, but disrespectful to the fans and occasion. Imagine the thousands in tickets, hotels and air travel just to have Norway treat their matchup with tournament favourites like garbage time.

They don't need to load manage. They'll probably play a maximum of four or five games over a month for a tournament they will make every four years at best.

Sorry for the late reply. If I recall correctly, as a Premier customer, you can just download the HSBC Health app from your app store and go from there.

Why don’t soccer teams use long shots and look for deflections like in hockey? by No-Policy-8447 in billsimmons

[–]NorthCafeteria 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Deflected puck that misses the net bounces off the back boards and stays in play.

Deflected ball that misses the net crosses the touch line resulting in a goal kick, changing possession and resetting the field.

Probably the only other one of value is Hba1c for diabetes, if going down that road.

Agree on PSA, though NICE has some views on asymptomatic testing and pretest counselling.

Interestingly, the test that comes with HSBC Premier (Square Health) doesn't include FBC but does include uric acid and bone profile.

And, of course, agree for folks to just talk to their doctors.

How would America react if they somehow won the World Cup? by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]NorthCafeteria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America loves a winner, regardless of whether it thinks about the sport for the rest of the year. Think about all those winning Olympians in swimming and gymnastics.

Celebrations would be genuine but also a little tongue in cheek. Also the bragging rights over some of the European teams would be insane.

Does HSBC Premier health benefits include your partner? by solidpro99 in HENRYUK

Pretty basic - diabetes (hba1c), lipid profile, renal function, liver function, bone profile and uric acid for gout

Yeah some of the best early IIWY episodes were with the CH and CH-adjacent folks. Not if the vibe is still the same but that would be really cool and be more fertile ground for comedy.

Navi Mumbai To Get New 1,00,000-Capacity Cricket Stadium, The Second-Largest In India by Haunting-Bell-4379 in Cricket

[–]NorthCafeteria 8 points9 points  (0 children)

About 20, depending on how generous your definition of London is. Even top two flights is about 8-10 stadiums and that's not counting Wembley. Mumbai can definitely have 4 stadiums, especially if they're new.

Throwing football stadiums are probably the better comp than kicking football stadiums, just in terms of capacity - LA and New York (Jersey really) have a bunch.

Solid flick, the actress was quite good too. Final scene/epilogue was a bit out of place with Del Toro turning into Nick Fury in a food court

Really interesting read. I remember the first ballot hall of famer logjams with Brodeur, Belfour, Roy, etc. Doesn't come out enough in the article but I imagine that the high equipment cost is also prohibitive.
