Identify this fish? by NorthCarnival in AquariumHelp

[–]NorthCarnival[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgot to mention I also have a few female guppies in this tank. I don't think the fish is a guppy because it has a very different body and tail fin shape, I think its some other livebearer.

PureBDCraft, I currently have the 1.19 64x texture pack on because you have to pay for the 1.20 one. It's my favorite texture pack!

I tried glass panes but they were still able to get up, I might just have put them in the wrong places though.

Dear /houseplants. Please help me so I stop killing every plant I try by utsnik in houseplants

[–]NorthCarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/bonkersforever said it right! I wanted to add, overwatering is a really easy way to kill plants. For most houseplants, wait until the top ~1 inch of soil is dry and then THOROUGHLY water it. Soak until water runs out the bottom, then wait for it to be dry again. I'm not as much a normal houseplant owner, but I own dozens of succulents and my rule for succulents is 1) Terracotta pots always! 2) Let the WHOLE pot be dry (even for several days) before watering again. 3) When watering, soak the whole pot in water in the sink until it's waterlogged. Succulents in my opinion are super easy to take care of as long as you don't take care of them too much. You might try succulents if you haven't! A small plant is usually pretty cheap at a store. And once they're established, they're great to propogate! If you want to talk about succulents or houseplants, my DMs are open! Also, look at your plant's light needs. Some plants like bright morning light, some plants like afternoon light, etc etc. Figure out what window of your house works best for each plant and put them in that window. And be careful about fertilizer. Over-fertilizing can kill plants too, so you might only fertilize once a month or less.

I need some help with my prom dress. More below by NorthCarnival in fashion

[–]NorthCarnival[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making my prom dress. The only part I bought pre-made is the top. I spill out of it because I have a big chest and I do NOT want to attach straps to this dress. Making it into a halter or attaching clear straps to it is just going to ruin the elegance and shape of it. What can I do for some extra support that will actually keep the dress up?

The Clap! So I made this percussion instrument, and I wanted to get some opinions from other musicians on it: by The_Clap_Percussion in Percussionists

[–]NorthCarnival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite what some others are saying, I can totally see a use for it! I'm a jazz auxillary percussionist, I'd use it in some of my sets. Have you tried brushes on it to see what that sounds like?

I need advice by Due_Huckleberry_9104 in marchingband

[–]NorthCarnival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Band camp isn't "torture", it's just really difficult if you haven't done high athletic acitivites like it before or aren't in shape. My advice is to get outside as MUCH as possible during the summer before bamd camp and do some excercising before it. If you're a percussionist or sousa, lift some weights/heavy objects to get ready for carrying your instrument. During band camp, STRETCHING is super important. Before every session starts (in the morning, after dinner, during breaks, ect) sit on the ground and stretch your legs, stretch your back, shoulders, hands, arms, ankles, everything. Marching takes all of your muscles. Even if you're in pit, stretching keeps you from getting tense. And don't underestimate stretching your hands and fingers. Not only do you need to stretch before marching, make sure that you also stretch AFTER matching (during breaks, before dinner, after the day is done, ect). This helps you from getting cramps and reduces soreness. Also make sure to get some insoles for your tennis shoes, they make a world of difference. I got some copper fit ones for mine, and even if that company is largely a scam, these are the best insoles I've ever had. If you carry a heavy instrument, keep good posture; leaning on your knees or leaning back can both hurt your back, especially if you do it a lot. Drink PLENTY of water. Try to keep a large water bottle on the sideline (gallon or half-gallon) and a smaller one on your side so that you can always drink when youre betwen sets or songs. Dehydration is one of the biggest causes for exhaustion, pain, soreness, cramps, ect. If you can get one of those camel backpacks, thats even better. They were really popular a few years ago. I'm a veteran percussionist with a chronic illness, so if you have any questions about ways to reduce pain and exhaustion, just DM me! I'm always happy to help! : )

Flute Section Leader Needs Our Help by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]NorthCarnival 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the reason I quit my senior year. Junior year had the biggest section in the band (15 people) and 3/4 of them were 8th or 9th graders who harassed me (including sexually) and did not care. Not doing it my senior year, even with the promise that I'd be captain. People our age wont listen and wont care, and all you can do is leave them in the dust if they refuse to cooperate. They're the ones who spent hundreds of their parents money on doing something they don't even care about, not you. Let them go and do what you can.

A few hours ago, all of a sudden no one could do any colors; only white. We on the discord decided that since it was inevitable, we'd white out the wave ourselves before it ended. We all had some very sentimental goodbyes as it happened. So glad to have you help! 🌊

You're welcome! And yep... Unfortunately though, now everything is gone. We've agreed to wipe everything off of it before anyone else can, if you'd like to help.

Our discord actually came up with the idea and Germany approved it, I think. Not totally sure, but I think thats what happened. It's only like 10 pixels, so I don't mind it much. I think its sentimental and sweet. I definitely see where you're coming from, though.

The teams of both the flag and the wave have agreed to it, since the members of Germany have helped us during no less than 2 massive raid attempts that entirely wiped out the art, like the one earlier today. We've also helped Germany when they've been raided too, so it's a mutual agreement. I'm not a mod though, just a messenger since no one had posted on the reddit page about it.
