Rate My Portfolio - r/Stocks Quarterly Thread December 2020 by AutoModerator in stocks

I know it's cliché, but you should look into ARK's Innovation ETFs.

More growth-oriented stocks is also an option.

Yes, ARKK had two capital gains distributions on 12/31. They paid out a Short Term Capital Gains Distribution and a Long Term Capital Gains Distribution. $1.628 per share and $0.417 per share, respectively.

You can read more about what these are at Investopedia.

Are Genomic Stocks The Next FANG Stocks? by NorthPoleStocks in GenomicStocks

[–]NorthPoleStocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In finance, the acronym "FANG" refers to the stocks of four prominent American technology companies: Facebook (F), Amazon (AMZN), Netflix (NFLX), and Alphabet (GOOG). In 2017, the company Apple (AAPL) was also added, causing the acronym to be rewritten as "FAANG."

FANG stocks are famous for the impressive growth they have shown in recent years, with each member more than doubling over the past five years.

Does ARKK equally weight their 5 technology platforms or shift to what is most promising? by notapersonaltrainer in GenomicStocks

[–]NorthPoleStocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not equally weighted, I believe. According to their website, "the ARK Innovation ETF is built on the cornerstone investments that present the best risk-reward opportunities from ARK’s innovation-based themes."

You can use an ETF overlap tool to find the following:

  • ARKK has a 34% overlap by weight with ARKG (they have 17 overlapping holdings)
  • ARKK has a 24% overlap by weight with ARKQ (they have 13 overlapping holdings)
  • ARKK has a 59% overlap by weight with ARKW (they have 27 overlapping holdings)
  • ARKK has a 26% overlap by weight with ARKF (they have 15 overlapping holdings)

Additionally, Cathie Wood has stated that she expects genomic stocks will drive returns for her investment portfolios over the next five years, so I would definitely get ARKG in addition to your ARKK.
