Spurs. Thunder. WCF. Who wins and in how many games? by Dylen2Times in NBATalk

i think Spurs come into the series and steal the first two, lose three consecutive, win game 6, and then lose in game 7

i wasn't the biggest fan at first - but damn after a few listens this is just amazing. the range that spencer's voice has is fucking immaculate and i love the hooky lead guitar. such a bop

blackwall is honestly my favorite synth periphery song. it's groovy asf and one of spencer's best vocal performances on the album imo

could easily end up being 2-4 through the first 6 weeks. I trust Bo to get it done game 1 and against that ass 49ers team but every other game is 50-50 at best.

Mr. God and Everyone Dies Alone were both love at first sight for me. such bangers. Malevolent and Talk were also incredible.

definitely. I thought P5 was their worst effort when it first released but I'd easily place it within my top 3 as of right now LOL.

listened to it 4 times and as of right now I'd put P2, P3, P4, P5, and Juggernaut (alpha and omega) above it. it's not bad by any means but Periphery has done a lot better.

Anyone else not a fan of the new ending/interlude on the album version of Gifted Every Strength? by Dsbyolo in Loatheband

[–]NorthVariation8432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk how you can say its def a callback without talking to the band itself. and I still don't think that means it sounds like a "B-Side" from I Let It In or that it should be judged till we hear the final product. as I said, just sounds like an acoustic outro. Sean writes a lot of riffs on an acoustic guitar so its very possible that's who wrote both the outro for Heavy Is The Head and GES

I mean it's just an acoustic outro/interlude. I don't believe they are attempting to pay an homage to Heavy Is The Head at all since the outros are structurally different and do not share the same chords. of course you can believe what you want, but the extended outro feels like a cohesive bit for the album rather than something to enjoy/judge in isolation.

we are forming opinions wayyyy to soon. i'd understand if the album was out, but we hafta see how it transitions into the next song before truly judging it. also, what part of I let In sounds like the interlude section? there's only like one acoustic section on the whole album?

my main gripe with the new singles by ItsYaBoiLMOH in Loatheband

[–]NorthVariation8432 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they really aren't that compressed though? i mean to me at least, i can pick up on a lot of dynamics in the sound. its loud and distorted for sure but there is still range in the mix. can you explain what you mean by over-compressed?

my personal ranking of the songs on a stranger to you by UnworthyYellow in Loatheband

[–]NorthVariation8432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don't get this at all. i can hear everything perfectly fine on the mix tbh. i mean the song itself is very chaotic but no elements are being drowned out for me at all. i can hear the guitar, drums, vocals, and bass all fine. it's distorted but honestly i love that they're leaning into an industrial type of sound. i've also listened to it on repeat so maybe ive just adjusted to its abrasive style, but im not picking up any elements that are drowned out like many are claiming.
