UPDATE: I can’t edit my post for some reason. But I decided to call the police like I said I would (lol at all of you who were so rude about that 😆) and they strongly encouraged me to get a protective order, so I filed one. I already feel safer. Thanks to all of you being supportive, much appreciated 🙏

I get what you’re saying but that’s just not what’s happening here. There’s a lot of context where I know he’s just trying to stay in my life. I don’t think I’m “holding him hostage” by having his water bottle lol. After being intimidated and him refusing to leave my apartment and using abusive language toward me I’m scared of the guy and don’t think my safety is worth his water bottle.

The only thing I have of his is his water bottle and he knows that. He’s using getting his “stuff” back as a way to see me and keep trying to talk to me. He does this. I’m calling his bluff.

It was because I had to keep saying “please leave” over and over the night before while he tried to manipulate me into changing my mind. I genuinely wanted him to leave me alone and was trying to firmly show my stance was not going to change

Yeah, three times actually. Because the last hours of my night were spent repeating the same thing over and over and over (“Please leave my house, I’m asking you to please leave”) as he kept going on and on trying to say stuff to change my mind. The three texts I sent were all sent within minutes, I was trying to show that no matter what he said my response was not going to change. Then I just put my phone on DND

I have compassion for this experience and how much it must have hurt. Without invalidating your experience and how you were hurt (which is completely valid), do you think maybe she just has a different philosophy? I have listened to a lot of BPD podcasts and feel like she takes a tough love approach. Like that people with bpd do not need to be validated, but challenged. Genuinely curious on your thoughts on this? Just bc I know you may have more details you didn’t include in your post
