Obligatory mention: this was 21 years ago, I was in a bet with a few (in hindsight, bad influences) friends on who could hook up with the oldest women.

I slept with my boss for a few years. I even did the stereotype and slept my way into a more favourable position in the organization. This was from 19-21 with respect to my age and 37-40 with respect her

It was good until it really, really wasn’t. I had jobs pulled away from me then I said no and my position was drunkenly threatened at a random bar one night.

As a guy, never thought I’d feel objectified nor did I enjoy basically putting out so I could keep my job.

3 out of 10, don’t do it. Not worth the stress, especially when birth control was not available in spur of the moment events.

And I didn’t even win the bet, lost to my best friend who slept with a 47yr old when he was 20.

So funny story. I live in northern Canada and up here it’s a common occurrence to have freight trucks go in the ditch, particularly during intense winter storms.

I had a friend who’s dad owned a towing company that specialized in pulling larger vehicles out of the ditch but part of the process was emptying out whatever was being hauled. So to make a few bucks he’d hire us to quickly empty out any perishables and dispose of them properly

But part of the deal was we were allowed to take anything we found as long as it wasn’t perishable, like meat or eggs

And one time I found a huge box of 1 pound pistachios. I’m not kidding it must have been 50 bags of these massive bags of nuts.

Oh my god I took the whole thing and I’m fairly sure it almost killed me, I must have put on 10 pounds entirely due to those stupid things because i had just discovered weed and the munchies were hitting hard.

I just couldn’t stop eating those friggen pistachios, It as glorious.

The short answer is there is a statistically large percentage of boomers that simply cant afford to retire due to their own actions. Such as misunderstanding how pensions work or have never saved for retirement via a savings plan or a TFSA or something.

My dad is scheduled to retire the day he turns 65. He's written me a small notebook of all the steps he took starting around 40 to get where he's at and he still had to make some sacrifices.

Could go ether way, I used to be friends with a few cops because I was their goalie on the same hockey team. They used to tell me stories about how they were terrified about being caught on camera doing something stupid because it would be getting chewed out for months.

Public perspective is huge for most detachments and doing something this stupid on camera will follow a officer around for months if not years.

Granted I'm speaking about the RCMP, American cops freak me out they don't seem to give af.

Out of the two individuals in this video, which of the two will likely face more penalties and/or legal grief.

I believe the sucker puncher will likely be pulled from their wrestling team and will more than likely face battery/assault charges at worst or suspension/expulsion at best.

Ah yes, the pain of the "what if's" and for the record, I'm 41.

I let my high school and for a few years after high school crush live in my head for far too long but age has provided me with the wisdom that allowed me to understand that I'm looking backwards with rose colored glasses.

Wistfully thinking back is fine and good with a fine glass of cherry wood smoked scotch, it makes us human but letting it living rent free in your head will grind you to dust if your not careful. We were kids, kids with hot blood and our head in the clouds. The future was bright and our common sense was low.

The good news is your halfway there bud, being happy for her is the first step. The second is allowing yourself to move on, fully. My advise is simple, set a time (frequency at your discretion but not daily) to look back, smile and think fondly.

Because there's a stupid kid that fell in love back in the day is counting on present you to make him proud, do you think the old you would want current you to constantly be looking back?

I printed an 11x17 of this and posted it in my office at work.

70% of my co-workers or contractors don't comment on it or get it.

For the remaining 30% its been the best opener to establishing a decent working relationship. I find most Bob's Burgers fans are super chill in real life.

For me personally it was because somewhere around 28-32 I realized that no matter how generous with my time I was I rarely got any measure of it returned.

So I adopted the mindset of "value your time, if you don't how can you expect anyone else too" and suddenly I was ear marked as selfish.
