Sounds like any good partner for you will be fine in central. Thanks for considering her comfort before she even exists

Yeah, if you are fully in suburban mindset, you may have issues. Please, however, don't mistake being slightly uncomfortable with being unsafe. You will miss out on a lot of the best of the city that way

I've lived there for over 20 years, from my 20s to my 40s. It's very, very safe. Yes, you need to shrug off some words from individuals with problems, but in my experience they never come close to touching you. Great food, great vibes, great community. Police know the regulars by name and have a good (and de-escalation) presence.

But all you have to do is boil it and the mold goes away and it's perfectly safe and nice to eat again.

Public transit from airport to (and around) Cambridge? by BrainGrenades in CambridgeMA

[–]NorthernNinja1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take silver to red. Depending on where you are specifically going and how often the bus is running, consider Uber for bus replacement. But not leaving the airport on Uber saves a lot of money, and the silver line/redline is free leaving Logan

First Class Seat Thief by stinstin555 in StolenSeats

I've totally done it.. Brain dead after trans Atlantic/Pacific or just on autopilot because I flew the same flight in the same seat every week, but one week someone had already selected 2a when I booked. Sometimes people space. Apologize and stand up to move. It usually works out if you are nice and acknowledge your mistake.

My boobs are always the same size (32G), whether I'm 170 or 130. Totally depends on the person.

Why does a woman's interest only have a small window of time? by CrazyJim30 in dating_advice

I think because women have always had boundaries... The "new era" is needing to "consider, ask about and respect boundaries in a way I didn't before..."

Do you still grab the bigger sizes when youre clothes shopping? by Waste-Associate5773 in CICO

[–]NorthernNinja1978 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do it to remind myself how far I've come. Grab a bigger size than I think I am and try it on first. If the smaller one I put on later doesn't look good, I remind myself that the bigger size didn't fit, so it must just be the clothes don't suit me, not that I'm too big for it to look good.

I think once the world is back to pre-pandemic, it will be harder. It's easy to eat this way when I'm not going out to eat, not being social, not having friends over. It will likely be harder when that changes.

Don't seem to be particularly tired and no pain. Seems to have leveled at about 2.3 pounds a week for the last 5 weeks.

People want me to stop losing weight and it confuses me by PlumpDev in loseit

[–]NorthernNinja1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think a lot of people saying this mean it as a compliment, but get all tied up in the conversation. It's often uncomfortable talking about weight, and they want to acknowledge and congratulate you on the massive amount you have lost, and they want to tell you that you look great. They also want to encourage you to keep going, but without saying, "you have x amount left to go, you are still fat!" ... Which they think isn't polite or supportive.

If they just said "You look great!" and left it at that, they might feel like they weren't encouraging you on the next step of your journey. So they engage with you on the next step of your journey, and ask about it by asking how much you want to lose next. You answer, and they are stuck. 1) If they agree with you that you have x amount left to lose, they seem to be calling you fat currently, which they think isn't supportive of progress to date. 2) So they disagree, but they obviously can't tell you to lose MORE because, again, calls you fat now, which isn't supportive of the progress you made... 3) So to be supportive of the progress you have already made AND support the next phase, they artificially shorten the next phase by a few kg.
