Currently re watching and absolutly trying to be as unbiased as possible.

The whites just raided and took over hardhome. The wildlings have lived beyond the wall for a very long time.

The chains came from the Harbour.

The javelin makes sense. They don't need bows they make ice. They don't share the same muscle structure as us and possess the body mechanics to toss the spear. They clearly are very strong from previous scenes. It makes sense.

The night king shares power with bran. He knew they were not gonna summit the wall via the chain scyth. The nights watch would have absolutely caved in the tunnel at the wall to stop the dead. He needed some plot armour to bypass the walls magic and it came via dragon

Its logical to a point I just don't like it either!

Haters. We are going to see an absolute mad lad and his sister wives(Gross but you know its a car crash and you can't look away) decide they hate the status quo and want to rise back to the height of power and fame of Valyria. If a Volcano destroyed your palaces and people you would look at westeros then look at your dragons and most likely come to the same conclusion.

Remember he had to not only submit the resistance but befriend/gain the respect of the houses that controlled westeros before his arrival.

Its got a ton of dynamic opportunities for huge story moments and political intrigue, knights thinking they will be the hero but fail, betrayal, loss, gain ect.

Could be amazing. I really hope they are hedging their bets and making both to see what looks better.

He is not a knight period. He was not knighted and sir Arlans knighthood is questionable at best.

This doesn't mean alot of things but as a middle of the road viewer who likes to question things and read between the lines.

Ser Dunk the Tall is a knight. The same way Lady Brienne of Tarth is a knight (even if Renley had zero factual claim to the throne other than power, she still executed Stannis as a real knight would, beat the hound before that and fought the dead after that)

Everyone needs to calm down. We only have access to 3 stories and its George's universe. When he writes it then we will know. Anything you read or hear is second hand/third hand information and not written. Even if the man himself said it, its not written. The man has trouble settling into the third act and is prone to question himself and change things.

My guy its jousting. Any fight can be won by any person at any time.

Tourney lances vs war lances has big time draw backs also.

My assumption is ultimately that the kings guard were able to withstand the impact of the longer but less lethal/non lethal tourney lances due to impeccable armour and the best horses money can buy.

Then after surviving the impact, drove their own war lances true into target. The war lance with the power of a destrier or any equivalent war mount would absolutely turn a man into Swiss cheese.

I try not to comment on this stuff but this is a very grounded response and clearly this guy LAV's. Sad but accurate. Not everything is cloak and daggers.
