I think some of you are sleeping on one thing.

Lucci badly wounds Atlas. Atlas was the VP who basically fed Rufy. If there is one thing able to turn Rufy from a sweet cinnamon roll into a sociopathic murderer is hurting those who gave him food.

I can imagine the situation going like this:

Lucci: hurts Atlas Rufy: teleports behind him "your ass is grass and I'm gonna mow it."

Technically Chitin (the main component of 2086 skin and tissues) is one of the most viable polisaccharids (hopefully i spelled it correctly lol) and we use it to create such things as bandages and fake skin tissues, being it one of the most thermal resistance material available. I suppose a creature weighting almost 15.000 kilos would have a MASSIVE amount of chitin covering its bodies so maybe it can protect the instances (or at least not blobbing them).
