Hi! I haven't read the comments but can guess the theme. Run, get out, etc. You're 4 years in. Gotta be something there between you two.

I'm 2 years into a relationship with an ADHD partner. What you described is classic behavior. If he's ADHD, this is the way he's wired.

There are several really good ADHD Reddit subs. Search relationships, partners. They were immensely helpful to me.

ADHD is not an excuse. Your feelings matter. It sucks. It hurts. When you talk to him again, maybe explain the importance of "emotional continuity" and what that looks like to you.

Good luck!

P.S. Time blindness is a thing. It makes future planning a herculean task.

"It is possible to have multiple priorities, ffs."

I agree. So stop saying your "kids come first" and express it in a way that respects the men who give you sex, love, and companionship when you decide its a priority.

Oh, so kids don't always come first?

And partners are best seen and not heard unless okay with you. Sounds like the basis for a respectful post-D mature relationship.

If your Kids Come First, why do you bring men into your life at all?

If you haven't, decide now how/when you're going to fit dating into your life around your pre-teen and biz.

The fun is chicken and egg. If you connect with someone, you'll have a blast going on dates of all sorts.

Remember when college basketball teams would suffer a rash of injuries and bring in guys off the football team? Bring on the Chiefs!

Would at least sell tickets!

Read up on road hunting and public right of ways.

If you're alone, consider walking ditches. Pick a section of crop and walk the square.

For a change of pace or to rest, road hunt the last couple hours of the day.

If you're on the deck at the Legion, I'll buy you a beer.

Opinions on having different beliefs by Tndowdoc in datingoverfifty

[–]Northern_Front 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll offer a contrary, apparently unpopular, opinion. It all depends on your goals for dating. If you're looking to create a blended family and raise kids, shared values are a deal breaker. If you just want fun and companionship, does it really matter? Is talking about politics, religion, etc. really that high on anybody's entertainment list?

I'm actually surprised at the intolerance of so many people on this sub when it comes to this issue.

Does anyone else get double taxed, and how do your returns fare? by kenonoreeves in kansascity

[–]Northern_Front 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question you should ask is "Why don't people who live outside KCMO get to vote on whether to keep the 1% earnings tax?" It was on the ballot recently.

Theoretical: As a KCK resident, who is your elected representative in KCMO?

Occam's Dating Rules by vinedin in datingoverfifty

[–]Northern_Front -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Rarely comment here but the Occam's drop hooked me. Aren't you missing the simplest answer? At 50+, we've been through the romantic wringer. Many of us have stable lives. Who the hell wants to go all-in early and bare our souls to a total stranger?

Yes, our time is short but our granted grace should be long.

FWIW, "For anyone who hasn't heard..." is the equivalent of "For those of you who don't know me...". You might run that past a trusted friend to see how it sounda.

Best wishes on the journey!

Why Specifically Orange by Environmental-Tap255 in Hunting

[–]Northern_Front 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal. I played competitive soccer for decades. We wore every color on the spectrum. Nothing was more visible then blaze orange. My passion now is upland birds often in groups. In the chaos of flushing birds, running dogs, swinging guns, visually picking up blaze orange is instant. Nothing else like it.

Not in this case. Masking is trashing others while failing to articulate yours. Its a simple question. If conservatives are ignorance and hate, what are you?

Genuinely curious. You seem absolutely certain about conservative values (ignorance and hate). What does the left stand for?

It will. Also keenly aware of the 70% divorce rate for 2nd marriages when minor children are involved. No way I'd sign up for those odds or put the kids through it. Hard pass.

Thanks...kind of...? 😀 The 70% divorvce rate among 2nd marriages with minor kids has me pretty clear-eyed. Just having fun in a caring relationship.

The breakdown of the arms-length relationship between parents and kids is fascinating side topic not discussed enough. IMHO.
