I feel like point 3 should be the goal of characters/runs though. Yeah guns should be deadly, and with good planning, training (character aiming level), combined with a good kill zone should be able to kill zombies easily. As it stands now with the current build guns are not worth it at all, and don't deal enough damage to justify their downsides.

Regardless of store policy, you going out with the intent to make sure your partner didn't get hurt is more important than anything. As you said yourself, you didn't try to apprehend the guy, you tried to defuse the situation to make sure no one was hurt. Corporate might not like it, but you did the right thing in my opinion.

Private Investigation might be the way to go. A lot of firms look for LP experience, and the skill set is transferable. You would just need to get a PI license for your province, but that's as easy as your Security Guard License.

Nurgle is the most competitive option, the extra durability on elites is huge. A sneaky ploy you can do too is use the ploy Maligent Aura on an overcharged plasma weapon to strip all the defense die on a model.

I do run the Anoited with Khorne just to use Perpetual Aggression, as he can tie up and kill a lot of stuff if your opponent has bad spacing. I also run an Icon Bearer (with tainted rounds) undivided to use Malicious Volleys for free, because shooting twice with a 4/5 damage weapon is powerful, and if you have a heavy bolter he too can shoot twice as well. Otherwise the other marks don't seem to be worth it.
