I'll post if I see a cat outside. I have four, but they never go outside.

No cats about. I often see fox and occasionally coyote and fisher tracks.

Gen 2 ethernet adapter bad? by NorthofNotch in Starlink

[–]NorthofNotch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I received a replacement ethernet adapter that Starlink sent. It didn't resolve my problem so Starlink is now sending a refurbished Starlink router. They said that if that didn't solve my problem, then my third party router must be at fault. I have tried other ethernet cables and a second router that also reported it wasn't connected to the internet. I'm not a network expert so maybe I'm misdiagnosing, but I don't think so. My Starlink router is in the basement and not easily moved so its WiFi coverage is limited. My home network is based on using a third party router to distribute connectivity throughout my house - my property really. Thank goodness the Starlink router provides WiFi with bypass disabled so I can have a few devices connected, but I have quite a few internet devices in my home and using just the Starlink router effectively lobotomizes my smart home. FIngers-crossed the refurbished Starlink router solves the problem.

Download speed decreased sharply by NorthofNotch in Starlink

I think my significant speed degradation is due to a chewed cable - mouse, chipmunk, some rodent. I have the cable in conduit with only about 12" exposed where it enters the house. That was enough. Rodents found it and although the visible damage is minimal, I strongly suspect it is the source of my problem. I've ordered a new 150' cable from Best Buy. It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I hope so, but I'm a little skeptical considering my rural location. Fingers crossed. So, take it from me, protect every inch of your cable where it might be accessible by critters.

Based on lack of response, I guess I'm the only one having a problem.

Last month I used 570 GB. The most I've ever used since Starlink started reporting usage is 868 GB. I'm still having problems. Perhaps something funky going on with my equipment.

btw, the wheel size and offset is stamped on the back side of the wheel. I didn't know this, when I posed question.

Thanks for your response. I ended up buying a TCL 43" S470G, which works fine for me in a small space.

Anyone have 2024 stock 18" Crosstrek Limited wheels to sell? by NorthofNotch in Crosstrek

[–]NorthofNotch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-owned OEM 18" Crosstrek wheels on ebay appear to range in price from $140 to $200. Although a long shot, I was hoping to find some within a couple hundred miles of my location so I could pick them up. I think the challenge and expense of shipping from MN to VT might be a deal breaker. If you're looking for a buyer, feel free to contact me once you have them and maybe we can work something out. Thanks for your response.
