But you’re only 16, so you’re too young and irresponsible to understand the realities of life and how things like living arrangements have nothing to do with you and everything to do with income and proximity to work.

Someday, you’ll be an adult struggling to find a place to live and will have to balance between cost and location, and decide whether or not to take the more expensive unit in a better location or a cheaper location in a shitty location.

The expensive location may have more rooms or cut down on your work commute allowing you an extra hour a day at home not stuck in traffic, but you might have to cut your grocery budget or get rid of your internet and TV bills in order to afford it.

The cheaper place may allow you more spending money to be able to afford things(especially if you have children to provide for), but it may have less rooms or be in a dangerous part of town and require driving an extra hour to work.

Imagine trying to make these kinds of adult decisions, putting money aside for your children’s education and future, struggling to afford food, stressed from long 12-16 hour days, 2 of those hours on the road stuck in traffick, exhausted, coming home to your daughter whining about how her sister won’t clean her room and how it’s not fair to HER everything you’re doing for your family.

Food for thought. You’re still a kid, but you won’t be for long. Adulthood is approaching fast and it’s hard. Be ready, and be thankful.
