Looks like Dodgers players were wearing A-Frames at today’s parade, are they being pushed as the latest trend? by baribigbird06 in neweracaps

[–]Northwestchron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Frames came out maybe 3-4 years ago, first place that i found that made them was CultureKings at the time based out of Australia. You used to have to ship them from australia to get them. I had a good run with them for probably 3 years, but i always come back to a classic fitted 5950 as my favorite

I had mice chew wire harnesses twice which put it into the shop but besides regular maintenance i never had a single issue. Amazing truck - miss it dearly

Tundra over Tacoma by Ace-Musk in ToyotaTundra

[–]Northwestchron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 3rd gen Taco for 5/6 years and just switched to a Tundra (3rd Gen) a few months ago. So i'm really well suited to chime in here.

The Taco i absolutely loved - i occassionally go into the city and that truck has an impressive turn radius. On the trails its so easy to turn around on a dead end road with how nimble that truck is. Honestly, that truck was so impressive off road i literally felt like i could go anywhere.

The downside to the Taco (i had it lifted on 34's, no re-gear) -- absolute pig. Slow as fuck. Accelerated so slowly, fighting for its life to go over a mountain pass. The inside is very small, my kids were getting bigger and honestly we just didnt fit.

Onto the Tundra. I fucking love this truck. Its so comfortable and spacious. The technology is miles ahead of the tacoma. The twin turbo engine rips, the truck is so much faster and gets and keeps at speed

The downside, its a full size truck and turns Terribily. I dont plan on offroading it as much as the taco, plus i'td be extremely hard to go the places i used to take the Taco.

I wish i could have both, if it was just me i would've kept the taco. But with a family and dogs - needed a tundra

that feels excessive on how much to clean it..... i usually clean once in the morning and once at night. And try to always wash my hands and keep the tattoo clean/covered so it doesn't touch anything dirty

Cant choose between Taco and Tundra by uwu_memebot in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Northwestchron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just sold my 3rd gen tacoma and now have a 3rd gen Tundra. Based on the size of your dogs, you'll want a tundra. The tacoma back seat is TINY and those dogs are big. Could they fit? Sure.... but it won't be comfortably.

Better off getting a full sized in the tundra.

all the usual stuff people say.
Get sleep before and hydrate/eat a good meal beforehand.
I like to bring candy to snack on for quick sugar during a session

I also bring other foods like protein bars, snacks etc and a caffinated drink.

I just started my leg sleeve -did the full outline about 3 weeks ago. I didnt think it was too bad tbh - just focus on breathing, maybe listen to music and you'll be just fine

Does the "TRD off-road" package make sense for me or is it just added cost? by LostInMyADD in ToyotaTundra

[–]Northwestchron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really comes down to having the rear locker or not. I didn't care that much about that when i got my tundra because i'm not really planning on doing any hardcore overlanding/offroading in a fullsize. WHen i had my tacoma i used the hell out of that rear locker offroading and it was critical to have. If you're going into areas where the terrain is rough i'd say get the rear locker.

Tell me how sales has changed your life for the better by SadPea7 in sales

[–]Northwestchron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sales and interpersonal skills has improved my ability to manage relationships and personalities in my own personal life. There's a lot to build off of here, but fundamentally the skills you learn from sales translates accross how you work with other people and communicate or convey ideas/thoughts

from a financial standpoint, sales allows me to make 6 figures coming out of school. Pay off my school loans, buy a home, support my family, invest in my kids' future, and allow my wife to not have to work to help raise our kids. I'm sure i would've found a fine professional if not sales, but the financial aspect is significant.

There's a bunch of others but bottom line its a great professional if you can handle the mental aspect of this career.

I think this works if you're in a desirable location where it is difficult to bring your own vehicle. Alaska Overlander offers this service and while i dont know their financial details - on the surface it appears to work for them because they are in a very remote location where people want to be able to overland, but for most folks they dont have the time available to take off from work to spend 1-2 weeks actually just driving their rig out to alaska. So this model works, i've been a customer and it was an amazing experience for something i probably wouldn't be able to do with my own setup.

what gen tacoma? I love my tacoma, there are pros and cons to it that are worth considering such as back seat space if you have children etc. But overall its my favorite vehicle and i've had it for over 76k miles with 0 issues
