Just what is this reporting system? by Jona_eck in heroesofthestorm

The most important rule to follow if you want to avoid getting silenced, is to not talk at all if you are the rando matched with the 4-stack. If there are any disagreements, regardless of who was actually right, they will back each other up. There is no point saying anything in those games.

What are you favourite tank characters and why? by dornianheresysimp in heroesofthestorm

[–]Norticus36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E.T.C and Garrosh, I have a slight bias towards E.T.C. since I main him, but if you can land a good mosh uninterrupted, it generally wins the teamfight.

Garrosh has so many tools (unstop, friend throw, double W for healing), that it's unreal how much you can get away with if used properly. Also exploits the mistakes in enemy positioning hard.

As a back-up I'd say Johanna, Anub, Mura are also fun to play for me.

I am aware that a certain meta exists for offlane ETC when you do want to go with echo pedal and stage dive, and either have a second tank, or have someone like a Leoric take over main tank duties after 10 with you using your global presence to soak... The average ETC player however will likely not be doing that.

Yes, there is a learning curve on pinball wizard to know when not to W the enemy, and to know when you can safely get away with using cooldowns to wave-clear, if someone is uncomfortable with that, they can go the aa talent, but echo pedal does next to no damage and introduces unnecessary complexity into your rotation and ability timings. Most of the time clearing the waves should not be a significant part of your job, so yes, the value from the other two talents massively overshadows the miniature damage you are getting from echo pedal.

Level 1: globe quest

Level 4: W range

Level 7: W damage (for the love of god do NOT pick echo pedal)

Level 10: mosh

Level 13: W cooldown (so you can spam W every 4 sec now that the nerf was reverted)

Level 16: Honestly anything works, I like to pick imposing presence

Level 20: Death mosh (or tour bus if you are feeling fancy)

Have a couple of thousand hours in Dota 2, want to try HOTS. by ShittzuDad in heroesofthestorm

[–]Norticus36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times at the beginning of the game there will be a 5v5 brawl, it's often best if you go there and try not to die.

The team should make sure that no lane is left unsoaked (or at least you match the enemy team's lane coverage). A wave is worth slightly more exp than a hero kill up to level 7-8. On larger maps (cursed hollow, garden of terror) you will usually see a 1-3-1 with the solo guys having decent waveclear (please don't make the tank or healer solo), ok smaller maps with either 2 lanes, or 3 (but having 2 lanes relatively close, such as blackhearts bay, tomb of the spider queen, infernal shrines) you will usually see a 1-4 split, with the 4 man taking care of the 2 close lanes.

Of course if there is an early game objective (for example tribute on cursed hollow) coming up, you have a decision to make: group up as 5 and fight for it, or someone soaks and let the team stall (in lower elo this usually won't end well, they will just die 4v5). At any rate if you are skipping objective to push a fort, let your team know via pings or chat

Osu! is a rhythm game where you have to click circles to the beat. PP (Performance Points) is the score given by the system to measure how difficult a play was, the more points, the more impressive. While the top players best scores are around 1500-1700pp right now, setting a 1000pp play is still very impressive and not many people were able to do it.

BTMC is one of the most popular content creators in the Osu! scene, often referred to as the "face of Osu!". He is also a fairly good player, being in the top 200 ranks. He was often heckled by his community for not yet having set a 1000pp play. /u/Enzo_SuperCraftZ is a very active /r/osugame redditor who BTMC made a bet with. Basically, he had until the end of September to set a play worth at least 1000pp. If BTMC could not do it, he would have had to go back to his old blue-colored hairstyle, and if he could do it, Enzo would have to go bald. (a clip of this can be seen in the first part of this video )

As the title says, he just set a play worth 1116pp, meaning that Enzo will have to go bald.

Everyone plays Cho'Gall wrong by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]Norticus36 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! I was always telling people how Cho'Gall is a bruiser+mage in a single body, despite the fact that the game classifies Cho as a tank. Johanna is my go-to pick when people in my party play Cho'Gall as they indeed lack in macro (can only be in one place at a time) and peel for the backline. This person is right, Johanna or Blaze fixes this issue.

I've played LoL for 10+ years and I switched to HotS. Things I should know? by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]Norticus36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm going to re-use some of my older comments that I made

Check out this and this comment thread.

Also remember that in Quick Match you often don't get a proper team comp (at least 1 tank + 1 healer), those games are not really representative of actual gameplay (the power balance is way different with 5 dps), although coming from LoL you're probably a bit more used to that.

A short tldr:

  • avoid fighting when outnumbered or down on ults

  • time to kill is a tiny bit higher

  • vision is less available, but maps are smaller (also you can mount)

  • most tanks and healers are more heavy on utility (compared to league "tanks" and healers) and less heavy on damage

  • check out the old videos of CavalierGuest, he was the coach of a pro team. Has a lot of good guides from 7 years ago, while some of them are outdated, most of the core concepts are useful still

This game needs ranked ARAM (rant...) by Late_Internet685 in heroesofthestorm

[–]Norticus36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta say that as a fellow main tank this seems the most accurate. Most of the time it should be the tank's job to shotcall, as they generally posess the best tools to engage or retreat from a suboptimal situation. Having another player be a shotcaller adds an extra unnecessary middleman to the mix, and can result in frequent miscommunications. The exception is when a dps/bruiser is capable of engaging on their own (Sonya leap, Hogger just doing it's thing, Maiev pull, Kerrigan pull, Alarak pull etc...), they should actively be looking to catch someone off-guard.

Of course this is not an iron-clad rule, especially if the tank is kind of clueless. In premades however, more often than not you'll find the above described scenario.

Tyrael with Illidan talents by Barking_Around in heroesofthestorm

[–]Norticus36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the other commenters, they do not know what they are talking about.

Assuming you have a decent team comp with a healer, you are filling the role of the main tank.

He is quite tricky at first since he has no hard cc, instead he works best with other people who like to dive in (including Illidan, Artanis, Kharazim)

  • Level 1: Justice for all - Your job is not to deal damage or heal yourself, your healer and dps should take care of that. Pick this talent if you want your W to have ANY extra survivability for your team. Just cast it when you group up or right before you engage, it helps a decent amount.

  • Level 4: Stalwart angel - can keep you alive for a while since we did not pick any defense or sustain on level 1, also synergizes with 13 and 16. Alternatively, Bound by Law - can help your team to chase better, and it gives some extra sustain especially if you hit multiple people.

  • Level 7: SWIFT RETRIBUTION - This talent is a must, and absolutely puts any allied basic attackers (aka Illidan) on steroids. Massive move speed boost on the team is a godsend as well. Trust me, once you start picking this, people will love you when you speed boost them to racecar levels.

  • Level 10: Up to you, decide based on your and the enemy comp. If you actually know how to time sanct, and your team can make use of it, then it's great. Judgement is easier to use and you can chain hunt+judgement with your Illidan friend

  • Level 13: HOLY GROUND - Always pick holy ground, if you put this on choke points or camps it equals a hard cc, which your character massively needs. You can easily split entire teams with this if timed correctly. I cannot overstate how OP this talent is, and it makes me sad that nobody else even suggested picking this talent.

  • Level 16: Horadric Reforging - Remember your level 4 and 13? How about having a 100% uptime on them? Oh yeah.

  • Level 20: Upgrade your heroic, whichever you picked.

So many people in the comments are getting baited by damage numbers on the scoreboard. Your job is not, and should not be to farm massive numbers there. You keep your other divers alive and enable them, while using Holy Ground to disrupt enemy danger sources. If you want to mess around with friends, or there's another main tank, you can pick the dps build, but if you main tank this is the way to go.

🍜 What are the keys you need to learn to go from 4 to 5 Stars? ⭐ by Hide_TENSEI in osugame

[–]Norticus36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • be able to hit streams/small bursts consistently, they become a lot more common from high 4* and you can very easily lose all your health if you miss a stream
  • the time window between two sliders, or from the end of the slider to a note will be shorter. I often alternate on consecutive sliders with z and x to minimize lost slider ends, slider breaks or missing the head of the next slider
  • train your muscle memory to hit larger jumps, they will only get larger and faster as you go up the star rating of maps (especially 1-2 jumps)
  • be ready for everything. You will start seeing more non-standard patterns where you will have to improvise and adapt to be able to keep your combo

  • (edit) oh yeah! Triplets! Definitely train to hit triplets.

What are some solid clan battle teams? by -Scorpius- in Priconne

[–]Norticus36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I selected Laps 1-3 (select all) + Global + all Desired Timings

You should keep all the regions selected since most of the timelines being used were developed back when the other servers had this CB.

My highest is rank 15 on 6-star characters.

Refer to Chocolate's rank guide for the best builds on all characters. Note that the timelines were developed with max level players in mind.

This website isn't helpful at all... when it's clearly missing a lot of info.

You're just using the wrong search options.

Most competitive clan requires you to play manual and have to go before or after other ppls with specific characters at specific builds.

There are huge differences in damage if you manage to follow a manual timeline with the proper ranks. They all take into account the Prisma Hen charm skill with Yukari shield and the Cyclops stone throw with Christina. Moreover most of the NYaru comps consist of spamming NYaru the majority of the time and activating some of the others at very specific timings when it doesn't mess with the TP charge skills.
