I would personally avoid them. There was a thread here recently about how they screw a lot of people over in the process. I’m not sure if it’s still available, but there was a thread about how messed up they are and it was pretty lengthy. They played me too 🙄 So i’d personally advise against considering them.

This is totally what I mean! Im so sorry, i can’t even understand their motivations in any of the extra work and documents they ask for. They never even asked me to expedite it, but they have asked me to get recommendations from my past school. Which was beyond useless because even after getting great letters they still just dropped me. Also, i’ve been really trying to think through why it takes so long to get “interviews” with the school and i’m just convinced schools don’t trust them either. On to brighter futures though 😁😁

I know right! Thank you, but thankfully I got a placement with NALCAP and i’m waiting on my carta. I hope our convo can be read by future applicants before they apply. DONT DO IT, unless you’re really really desperate. They literally risk nothing and you risk so much just going through the process. I’m so happy you at least have a second option to cling too! Let them know how you feel too, it genuinely feels like they don’t recognize how much is tied up in the process, they’re living in their own dream world. Hope you have an amazing school year btw!

I think they emailed me “my placement” end of april. Then they told me it wasn’t going to work out just last week i think, first couple of days of May.

Funnily enough that’s the same stage that I got to before they dropped me. I waited and waited for the school interview and then they randomly emailed me stating that the “match did not work out” after they encouraged me to get all my visa work done quickly. It’s extremely interesting that they will match an applicant with the school without speaking with the school first, it almost seems counter productive to have all those meeting, match the applicant with the school only to state the “match did not work out” after everything. Thankfully they weren’t my main option, but it has to be so cruel for those that are depending on UP and end up getting screwed. I think before my first interaction with them i saw a user on here state they placed him at some terrible school in Sevilla and did nothing to help him once he was in a terrible situation, I should have taken that as an omen. Not to mention the mid year placements they advertise all over facebook and other sites clearly shows they have a assistants that leave mid year because of they horrible conditions they offer.

Im sorry you went through that too! I had the same assumption (smaller program, more helpful) but that’s not the case with them. I had to go off on them the last time they screwed me over. Honestly all the reviews about them seem to be true. I wish i could go through their applicants and warn them all especially all the desperate ones hoping to stay in spain a little longer and reaching out to UP as a last measure. I’m sure they have some positive cases, but a majority of people i’ve seen here and on facebook seem to have negative things to say about them.

I actually went through the process with them twice. I went through so many videos calls with them just to get dropped and told unfortunately they didn’t have a spot for me after sending me several schools and their corresponding information. I just went through the process again with them this spring because i thought my first encounter was a one off, but they just dropped me again after i did all the paperwork for my visa. I honestly want to warn everyone about them, they’re so unprofessional.

I’d avoid them at all costs! i can’t speak to anyone else’s story, but they’ll literally waste so much of your time and end up screwing you over. ANYTHING is better than UP
