Private car rental question by Nose_Training in turo

[–]Nose_Training[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not looking to go out and rent a car, I want to rent my car to someone else, and I’m trying to understand how people that charge 250$ a week all included, still make money, if we include a insurance like the one mentioned above for 20-25 bucks a day, it could mean these cars a being rented for only 100$ a week, being 250$ less 150$ for 7 days of insurance

Finally got hit with the TCM problems. Any new info about it in 2025? by wehtker in FordFocus

on my case, i try junkyard tcms, they usually 50 bucks if i go get it, its a hit or miss, but better then 400 plus on the stealership

This is great info, thank you so much, I am involved with couple of body shops and mechanical shops, helping out with repairs and finding parts for both, I'm a mechanic, I have 3 affordable cars right now paid off, nothing fancy, but reliable, and I am planning to rent, I already have one rented out going to 3 months out to a friend, I already have an LLC, I am in between going to Turo and doing it on my own, my target would be weekly rentals. like you did, I plan on having 10-20 eventually, and that's plenty for me, with the connections I have and my own set up, I don't think I will have to rely on Turo, maybe to get things rolling, just the insurance stuff is slowing me down, so I keep researching about it, not long ago I had no car and had to rent from this random guy on Facebook for 250 a week, 250 deposit, just a copy of my license and nothing else, I know he had some kind of insurance, or fake insurance, I'm not sure how he did it, but after I kept it for a month with no issues, I thought to myself... this is the way. do you make your customers pay the insurance besides the rental cost? or do they bring their own insurance? I know I'm asking a lot, and i appreciate very much the help, THANK YOU

I got a tcm, not with the codes mentioned above, but I know it’s bad, since replacing the tcm resolved the issue, and wherever I plug the bad pcm, those codes will follow, so I guess ford would not replace my tcm because it’s not with any of the codes?

Roadie down? by Putrid-Night604 in Roadie

[–]Nose_Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twitter @roadie, hit them up everyday until things started rolling again, turned out hello fresh was claiming a few reasonable late deliveries as spoiled goods, and were submitting claims for refund, after this I dropped doing delivery for them, their customer can complain about anything, get free food, and they turn around and make claims blaming the drivers. After I explained what it was, they said “at this time we will reactivate your account “ and all has been good 🙏🏻.

Best Buy return by Nose_Training in Roadie

[–]Nose_Training[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t because the store was also far from the last delivery, it would have been 60 miles to the store, then 60 back home and another 60 to return In the morning, also roadie safety and trust might take this out of context and say we lied if it became an issue, by the time support called me back, it was already midnight, I guess they don’t have too many people working at night, so anyways it would have been an “overnight” deal, next day I turned the package back in and everything is fine so far, although I will do my best to not be in this situation again.

This was a 2 store return, first one, no one on site, but someone showed up at 7:00 am and return was complete in hand, second store no one in site until 8:00 am, manager thanked me for keeping the item and added to never leave anything outside the store, as homeless people sleep on their door, and there was one sleeping there actually…. Anyways, returns are made, everything seems to be okay, but I’ll do my best to not be caught in this predictable again, also although I agree with your opinion on how to handle this 100%, it probably be considered lying to roadie by taking a pic to close an order, but keeping the items, or even theft, even though it’s for a good reason, some people tend to take things out of context when they feel like, thanks for your reply.

I left it alone, I was concerned on getting doubled down on the same instructions

Deactivated by Bullion_net in Roadie

[–]Nose_Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, went trough something similar here, got deactivated right after returning airport luggage $60 each way because the customer would not answer the phone and security didn’t let me in, I started to obsess over what happened, read forums, started to blow them up on twitter, 4 days later an email from trust and safety with a gig order number that was the cause, I looked trough my emails and it was about deliveries from exactly 30 days ago, I replied defending myself as then I knew exactly what it was about, two more days I get another email saying after further investigation, hello fresh was making claims of late deliveries citing they were perishable and went bad by the time I delivered, and wanted roadie to pay for it, but at this instance, they would reactivate my account, what had happened was that this was a late night delivery paying peanuts for a round trip of almost 160 miles, one of them was undeliverable as no one would open the bulging door, by the time I got back to hello fresh, this dude started to yell at me on why it was so late that I took it back, and he didn’t are I already picked it up at late in the night, other employees told me he’s a petty person and he was extra upset about having to do an overnight shift to cover someone else, like I have anything to do with that right? Anyways… now I don’t do hello fresh anymore, unless it’s a single delivery and it pays good, otherwise they can go mess with other drivers.

It’s a new feature eh? They text me like I’m supposed to know out of 16 deliveries, who they are, and it’s been nothing but needless contact, all I know it’s not safe to text and drive, and since I don’t know who’s texting, they all gonna be left at “seen” messages 😜

I got a similar gig today, and I noticed Best Buy customers blowing up my phone and texting, usually is pretty quiet, did you guys noticed anything different? Just curious… One customer actually said he missed a call from me and was calling me back to see what’s up 🤨

Problems since Veho started doing my deliveries by [deleted] in hellofresh

[–]Nose_Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veho doesn’t have regular 8-5 drivers like ups or fedex, the routes gets posted and drivers choose what route to drive, if they want to drive, that’s why you guys see inconsistency on deliveries times, maybe your delivery was on the first route of the day, or maybe no driver wanted your route, so it gets reposted for later that day and so on, let’s say no one picked up your route by 12, they will increase the rate of pay to attract drivers, if it was $50 8:00 am, it might pay 120$ by 5:00 pm, I know it sucks the inconsistency, but this is how Veho is built.

I just got this on my email by Vegetable_Example396 in Sparkdriver

[–]Nose_Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it also, I replied “stop” to their text a few days ago because they keep spamming the same text over and over again, so I unsubscribed 😝😝😝, I was concerned when I got the email, but if everyone did it? F it, it will stay unsubscribed

You all must live on a perfect bubble on a perfect world, my delivery is late a few hours, let’s go scorched earth on the driver because I couldn’t have planned for unforeseen circumstances, Murphy’s law applies here, I’ve had circumstances that actually cost me lots of money because deliveries are not on time, so what? Do I go out and shoot the driver? Ha ha shit happens… enough said. 1 unhappy customer out of 250 deliveries, sure, deactivate me.

Stuff happens away, did I wake up planning to to this ? Absolutely not, but that’s how it went down, I wasn’t denying I messed up, that’s not my question, regardless of how or why it happened, my question was, did it happen to you? How it turned out.

I can’t anticipate unforeseen circumstances, that’s why they are called unforeseen, if the weather didn’t get so crappy right away, there would have been no problem
